"CD Review Karigan Somewhere Over Mars"

"What distinguishes "Somewhere Over Mars" and in fact Karigan's talent is a deftness for lacing memorable hooks and choruses in amongst the layers of production polish. There are specific highlights that could be noted but to no particular end. The truth is that every one of the 10 tunes have subtly infectious choruses that make themselves quite comfortable in the nooks and crannies of anyone's cerebellum. It would take a Herculean act of will to get the repeated refrain of "What happened to you?" from "The Raingod" or "Africa's" layered chorus out of even the most stubborn listener's skull."

Bio

Karigan is a band from South Western Ontario, formed in 2004 . Their music could be defined as more of a sophisticated, rather than raw sound. They use keyboards, strings and a full sound to accompany their music, which can be anything from ballads to edgier contemporary rock.
The members of Karigan have originated from the UK, Montreal, London Ontario, and Cape Breton Nova Scotia. Their sound sets them apart from other bands because of their strong arrangements, solid vocal harmonies, and attention to detail. To sum it up, really solid song writing.

Eddie Carrigan, originally from the UK is the bass player, lead vocalist and the founder of the band "Karigan". He has been involved in everything from movie soundtracks, to solo artist, and finally "Karigan". His songs have been played from Australia to Austria, England to the USA and beyond.

Jon Jennings, keyboards is from London Ontario, again skilled at what he does, his influences range anywhere from Pink Floyd to U2. His wall of sound is very apparent in Karigan.

Rob Richards, drums, originally from Cape Breton Nova Scotia is the timepiece of Karigan, but that wouldn't begin to describe his playing ability, which helps to define the rhythmic character of the band. Again, experienced at what he does, he is the backbone of Karigan.

Also from Southern Ontario is Rob "Sky" Stankowski, who brings a soulfulness in his lead playing, that truly embelishes the Karigan sound. All of these assets come to their fruition in the band.

Karigan is all set to release their latest CD "The Mission Bell", and will be out promoting it in 2010.
