KARIN AND HER MUSIC:

Karin Lundin sincerely wants to make her audience feel something, connect with the lyrics, music and intentional emotional content.

Karin is a Performing Songwriter, ASCAP affiliated. She is comfortable performing her originals or popular keyboard accompanied cover songs as well as backing other musicians as a varied style rock band keyboardist. Karin performs live both solo and with her guitarist & partner Dezmond. Karin's captivating keyboard style, flowing melodies and inspired lyrics, along with Dezmond’s haunting guitar grooves, make Karin's music sensory ambrosia. P.S. Karin's four piece band and extended band get together for special gigs, jams and recording sessions.

Karin's unique music is strongly influenced by her Philly upbringing and International travel. The best way to experience Karin's music is to hear it for yourself. Click on her audio files to hear "Take Me Away" and "U Wake Me Up". You will be transported to a mellow musical oasis that can not be represented by words alone.

WHAT ABOUT DEZMOND:

Dezmond Ball is Karin’s inspiration musically and so much more. He took Karin from the Coffee-house music circuit to playing with the big boys in top forty cover bands. He has played guitar and bass all over the U.S.A. for more than 30 years, in hot top 40 and his own Original bands. He also plays keys, drums and has a smooth Teddy Pendergrass style voice that stops women in their tracks. It sure stopped Karin!

Dezmond is an ASCAP Writer and Publisher. He has written more than 300 Original songs! He is the visionary, co-writer, feature hot guitarist, song arranger, audio engineer and producer of Karin’s original CD “The Perfect Life” due to be released by Dezmond’s A Song A Week Publishing in late 2007.

KARIN LUNDIN'S BACK STORY:

Karin studied classical flute at the age of nine. She played 2nd chair flute in the Lund Sweden City Orchestra at the tender age of 17. She spent her senior year of High School in Sweden where she met her Swedish relatives(cousins including Bjorn and Anna, Great grand Uncle Yjalmar and such) and learned about her Swedish heritage. Karin didn't speak any Swedish when she got there but she can still hold a conversation in Swedish today! She spent most of her free time (when she wasn't translating or going to the Disco) trying to learn to play the piano in the Lobby of the Guest House where they stayed. Karin wanted to be able to sing and play at the same time. First she tried to copy Ian Anderson and failed miserably. Perhaps the broken baseboard on that old grand piano influenced the moody quality of Karin's music (several keys didn't play at all).

Since Sweden, Karin went to Temple University in Philadelphia (played flute in the Marching Band - not her thing), lived in California, was exposed to the blues in the San Diego Gaslamp district, and eventually moved back to Philadelphia to be with her family. Philly fueled her desire to play piano live. She played keys & flute in an eclectic original band, did the top 40 band thing a few times, duos, and covers in the coffee-house circuit (all the time writing Originals on the side). Finally Karin is focusing on her Original songs (with the never-ending inspiration from her Philadelphia based Mentor/Producer/Guitarist/Co-writer and so much more - Dezmond Ball

KARIN’S BIGGEST MUSICAL INFLUENCES:

My Mother of course!!!! She was a music teacher and has the voice of a living angel! After her it would be Dezmond Ball, David Bowie, George Benson, Brian Mcnight, Elton John, for starters ... and yes female performers too l
