Lyrics

The Tragedy Bar

Written By: Karl Leuthold

As emptiness gathers and daylight recedes,
I follow my sorrow wherever it leads.
More oftend than not, when the night comes around,
The Tragedy Bar is where I can be found.

The sunken floats up to the surface in here,
Surrounded by sinners and fake wood veneer.
The neon is buzzing like flies in a jar,
It's low tide tonight at the Tragedy Bar.

As emptiness gathers and daylight recedes,
I follow my sorrow wherever it leads.
More often than not, when the night comes around,
The Tragedy Bar is where I can be found.

The sunken floats up to the surface in here,
Surrounded by sinners and fake wood veneer.
The neon is buzzing like flies in a jar,
It's low tide tonight at The Tragedy Bar.

I can't shake the feeling of sliding downhill,
But night after night I can drink myself still.
I'm parked in this spot like a broken down car,
It's low tide tonight at The Tragedy Bar.

Some fires burn softly then linger like coals,
But ours was a blaze that threw sparks and burned holes.
I curse you and miss you, wherever you are,
It's low tide tonight at The Tragedy Bar.

Happiness travels with an unspoken curse:
When things can't get better, they're bound to get worse.
A wish on the rocks, and a drink on a star,
It's low tide tonight at The Tragedy Bar.

Last call is coming, put a glass in your hand--
Good times are fluid, drink them up while you can.
Wherever life takes you, you're never that far,
From taking a seat at The Tragedy Bar.
