"The Guardian Express NewsPaper"

"Karlos Farrar is a talented vocalist and dancer. He grew up admiring Michael Jackson, and like Jackson, Farrar is a trail blazer, even creating his own genre: Pop-N-B." - Kelly J Newson

"Intern Edition"

“Karlos Farrar admits: “I know loving me ain’t easy.” But loving his new single, “Ain’t No Lady,” is. Farrar’s new track lands somewhere between the Pop-n-B sounds of today and the classic 1973 soul of the Four Tops. A majestic, synthesized string arrangement swirls over a persistent tambourine as Karlos proclaims: “Ain’t no woman like the one that’s mine.”” - TAHSAN SCOTT

"Bring The Noise !"

Contrary to what some may believe, Las Vegas has bred more urban music talent than just Ne-Yo. Darrun Walker and his Smooth Life Productions presented a local event on May 21 at the Icehouse Lounge billed as "Get You Alone: Grown & Sexy Male Showcase" to give unheard local talent some much-needed light, while also treating the ladies to a male-only bill. The results were a mixed bag; fortunately for the relatively packed crowd, the good outweighed the bad.

Namebrand kicked off the night with an energetic hip-hop/R&B set that also featured his brother, Karlos Farrar (more on him later), geared specifically for the female crowd. Namebrand even brought a audience member onstage and serenaded her. (Not to be outdone, event host/comedian J Reid looked for that same girl after Namebrand's set and give her the lap dance of a lifetime.) R&B artist D.L. followed and had the girls swooning. He fed the crowd an appetizer for the evening, providing a solid, melodic vocal offering with provocative lyrics over smooth beats.

Yet it was MC Sedrew Price and talented R&B artist Farrar who had star power written all over them. Price specifically has the looks, the swagger and the talent, driving the ladies berserk as soon as he stepped on stage. A gifted lyricist, Price barreled down his set as he picked off numerous beats made famous by other emcees and made them all his own. Farrar followed, showing everyone in attendance how you pull off a real performance. With a pair of male dancers flanking him, Farrar worked the crowd with his ear-pleasing vocals while showing off slick dance moves that even entertained some of the men in the crowd.

Although many anticipated to see the genre-hybridized Double R (think N.E.R.D), technical difficulties and mic problems spoiled his set. Double tried to maintain face by lip-syncing to his music, but the damage was already done. Similar problems plagued Amazin Da Corna Boi's energetic hip-hop exhibition. The sound would come back just as he began to wrap-up his performance.

Reid, who will make an upcoming appearance on HBO's Def Comedy Jam, displayed sharp wit and kept the crowd engaged while Campfire Music's Mikey V.I.P. spun classic and contemporary R&B and hip-hop. And outside of technical difficulties, Smooth Life delivered. - Andreas Hale

"Hype Magazine"

Karlos brings a bright aura with him whenever he walks into the studio. His thought process and talent alone will make his name a lasting brand. I can honestly say; out of any artist I have recorded Farrar has the most universal mindset for any genre of music and his passion alone to perfect his craft is not a quality you can find within any artist. My praise is not given; It's earned. I look foward to working with Karlos in the future and recomend anyone who has the opportunity to work with him to do so as well. -Neeko iLLaNoiSe Music Studio - Hype Magazine

His uniquely smooth & gentle voice, mixed with his Motown influences and New-School Steez," has the club hits such as Workin Wit that will make you dance and the slow/mid-tempo ballads such as Aint No Lady & Suicide that relate and connect to his music audience emotionally and mentally. This young multi-talented Singer/Songwriter also choreographys and produces most of his own material which puts him in a musical caliber of his own. Also excelling in the Acting field Karlos landed his first commercial, and made multiple TV appearances in 2012, making him such a rare commodity and asset to the next generation of Entertainers.

HISTORY
Karloss musical curiosity began at the age of three, where he would practice dance moves in front of his red-framed mirror, trying to imitate the Legendary Michael Jackson. By the age of six, Karlos found him self singing to tunes played on the R&B & Pop Detroit radio stations. When Karlos was eleven, he put his talent to the test by teaming up with his cousin Derek Webb, High School friend Keke and Close friend Michael and started entering talent shows throughout the eastside of Detroit. At this point in Karlos's Life is when he had realized that he had found his new love and passion for music and decided to become a Singer/Entertainer.

At the age of eighteen, Karloss fate of becoming a true musician started to thrive. He and his family relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. This was Karloss grand-opportunity to utilized his talent, develop as an artist, and network with some of the West Coasts prominent artists. Karlos worked day and night to perfect his craft. He started performing at local clubs, & entering talent shows while winning first place multiple times & building a name for himself opening shows for some of todays leading artists such as Trey Songz, Ray J, Lloyd, J. Holiday, and many others. He also toured and danced with Interscope recording artists Roc City, Interscope recording artist Lincoln Heights, Mishon, and Universal Motown recording artist, London on the 2008 BET Black College Tour. Making him one of Local Las Vegas's Top unsigned R&B Singers. He has since relocated to Los Angeles were he continues to be successful landing a spot on NBCs The Voice as a contestant, and songwriting/working with some of the industries top artist.

INFLUENCES
Growing up I was inspired by quite a few artist, but the ones that stuck out to me mostly were Donny Hathaway, Lenny Williams, Michael Jackson, R.Kelly, Prince, Usher, & Justin Timberlake. Michael, Usher, and Justin Timberlake really influenced me on the performance side of things. R. Kelly & Prince really influenced me on the songwriting side of things and Donny & Lenny really kind of taught me how to make that emotional connection with your listening audience. All these guys could also really sing. They were and are class acts in my opinion. When you listen to my music you can hear a lot of there influence especially Donny and Lenny on my slower Songs, which are mostly heavy piano tracks most of the time. I think Neyo and Bruno Mars are really great artist also. I didnt grow up on them, but I think we have similarities when it comes to our music in a lot of ways

THE INSPIRATION
My inspiration for my music comes from a lot of things. I base my music on real life situations. My up tempo/club tracks are for people to have a great time to so I mostly speak about things that people like doing or hearing when they party, but I also use my imagination and like to try different things when doing up tempo records. My slower tracks are ALWAYS based on true stories whether it pertains to me or its speaking on situations my family or friends have been thru. Either way its real and I personally have a connection to that particular situation. I have hundreds of records Ive written when I was going thru a certain situations that I havent even recorded yet so Im pretty good on the material side but there is always something that happens everyday that will inspire me to write another record. Music is everything. I live for music. Its my life! I hope anybody who hears my music can relate and just feel it. I put my heart into my music. -Karlos Farrar
