Karma Corner

Karma Corner

BandAlternative

We are oblivious. We are oblivious to the scene, genres and the business, all we do is write songs that we hope people will like. We fuse our garage rock influences with cult independent music while oozing catchy riffs, groovy bass, rock solid drums, smooth rhythm guitar and poignant lyrics.

Biography

The suburbs are boring and music is a liberation. We formed Karma Corner over a urge to do something different, escape dreary lives and have a few drinks on the house sometimes, but mainly because we love music. Our influences come from Post-Punk greats such as Joy Division, The Cure and The Smiths, cult indie bands such as Pixies, Pavement and Modest Mouse and garage rock revivalists like The Strokes, The Hives and Arctic Monkeys. The combination of these sounds leaves a hook-ridden first EP with emphasis on listener satisfaction and melodies that won't leave while the words still mean something. We think in a band landscape of pretentious attitudes and slack we aim just between and give you a band you could listen to for a week and then meet on the Friday night for a drink.

Living, Dead

Written By: C Christie

Have you seen the time?
I’m pretty sure it just ran past me
Have you seen the date?
I’m pretty sure this is my funeral
My friends all dressed in black
Stand around a hole dug in the ground
I look up at them
They all look back down

I’m pretty sure I’m dead
Someone should inform my parents
I’m pretty but I’m dead
Someone should inform the papers

I saw it on the news
I fell into the sea
A coastguard pulled me out
But my heart was far too lazy
Now I’m sitting at my wake
Listening to people reminisce
Of fights I never had
And girls I never got the chance to kiss

I’m pretty sure I’m dead
Someone should inform my parents
I’m pretty but I’m dead
Someone should inform the papers

Child Actors

Written By: C Christie

Child actors of America
Cutting coke with credit cards
Their Minds are so delicate
But They never had to try that hard

Never had it better, never had it worse
Blame the parents of the children that are asking for dessert
They never had it better, they never had it worse
Going out in a limo, coming home in a hearse

Child actors of america
Taking hits and buying rope
Their fragile necks are delicate
Asphyxiating any hope

Never had it better, never had it worse
Blame the parents of the children that have raised them in reverse
They never had it better, they never had it worse
Going out in a limo, coming home in a hearse

If only I, If only I could

Stupid Girl

Written By: C Christie

You live inside of a glass house
You’re throwing rocks out at the world
Stupid girl, Stupid girl
Stupid girl, stupid girl
You live inside your mind
Sleeping just to waste some time
Stupid girl, stupid girl
Stupid girl, stupid girl

You live inside a lion’s cage
Eating raw meat from the bone
Stupid girl, stupid girl
Stupid girl, stupid girl
You live inside a haunted house
You made all the ghosts move out
Stupid girl, stupid girl
Stupid girl, stupid girl

You live inside a fire fight
Yet you still ask for a light
Stupid girl, stupid girl
Stupid girl, stupid girl
You live outside reality
Life is just your fantasy
Stupid girl, stupid girl
Stupid girl, stupid girl

These Dreams

Written By: C Christie

Is that rain again?
It’s been raining since half past ten in the afternoon yesterday
I keep my curtains closed so the darkness can’t get out
And go to bed at three o’clock so I don’t wake up insane

I hear thunder in the skies
So I hide beneath the maple tree until it subsides
I’ll go play golf in the woods and I’ll look for the pope
If he scratches my back then I’ll cut through his rope
