"Karma fx EP Launch"

Karma fx are an alternative rock trio, with strong grunge and various heavy/classic rock influences, though they place no real boundaries on their diverse sound. Known for their hard rock songs that energise the room Karma fx are proud to be releasing their debut EP titled Destined Illusions on the 18th of December at the Prince of Wales and the 14th of Jan at the Rosemount Hotel 2011.

The songs are all built around a guitar riff and vocal melody to suit, and then sound dynamics to add depth and emotion are explored. Each song is then dissected and scrutinised to ensure every instrument is used to its greatest effect. The boys place a high level of importance in strong melodies and complimenting harmonies when creating new songs. All songs undergo this strict process before a new piece of music becomes a finished product.

Since the 3 piece got together in June 2010, they have consistently been working hard to get their music out to the public. They have exploited all avenues available to them to increase their exposure. This increase in exposure has provided a dramatic increase in the crowds coming to their shows, the quality of venues they play at and the quality of bands that they are now playing with. It’s this momentum that’s making Karma fx a very exciting band to watch out for.

Karma fx have progressed a great deal from their first gigs at mid week open mic-nights to playing some of the best venues in Perth and alongside some of Perth’s best unsigned bands.

This summer, karma fx are releasing their debut EP titled Destined illusions on Jan 14th at the Rosemount hotel. The show boasts some incredible local talent with Project Mayhem, Thursdays Page, Blackwater Station and Aztech Suns all supporting the launch. The EP includes 4 tracks that have stuck with the band throughout their first 6 months on the scene. These tracks were picked from a result of both constant crowd feedback and the bands personal favourites. They are a good snapshot of where the band started from with Never Too Soon, to where the band is heading with Parallel Dimensions. Lost highway was a hidden Gem as it was originally played on the Acoustic guitar but once the electric guitar took over it was transformed and empowered into one of the bands favourite tracks. The first track Friendly stranger is a catchy standout on the EP. It expresses the bands untamed energy and willingness to rock out whenever, wherever and with whoever wants to join them. This collection of tracks proudly marks the start of a great new band with a massive future ahead.

Its still very early days for Karma fx though they have their sights firmly set on making an impression at their upcoming EP launches this summer.

Their EP will be available for sale at their EP launch at the Prince of Wales in December and the Rosemount in January.
