Lashonda 'KARMAH' Gross, represents Forilla Records as their first and only R&B/Soul singer to date. God gave me talent, and I intent to use it to the best of my ability she states. And since the fall of 2002, that is exactly what she has been doing.
Karmah moved to Chicago at the age of twelve. Though the move did seem the best choice for Karmah at he time, by the age of fourteen she opted to once again leave her home and fend for herself just seemed like the best choice. I had to take control of my life She says with confidence, I knew if I was going to be different, I had to remove myself from certain situations.
From a very young age Karmah knew she could sing. She grew up watching both her mother and grandmother sing in the church choir. In 2002 she began pursuing her dream of Vocal Performance. As do most, she recorded her first song in the home recording studio of a high school friend who (at the time was producing music). The pair worked together doing everything from recording to doing performances at many local Chicago venues. Unfortunately in 2003, because of personal differences, the duo went their separate ways. Upon separating from her first producer, she was immediately turned on to another local producer, AP of 100 Grand Entertainment. I love the way he produces his tracks, they were Very soulful and meshed well with my voice. The two developed a steady work relationship and moved from the home studio to recording at Studio 55. It was while recording with AP that Karmah was introduced to what was then Grimmyville Entertainment, currently known as Forilla Records.

While visiting a friend at the home of Chicagos own independent rap star Bump J, Karmah was introduced to Brandon 'Mystro' Allen, and J. Forilla partners in Grimmyville Entertainment and The Lab Recording Studios. J. Forilla has since restructured the label with new personnel and renamed Forilla Records. Karmah was given that name after the title of her first single recorded at ForillaÕs The Lab Recording Studios.
As of today Karmah retains her title as Forillas only R&B/Soul artist by choice of executive producers and personnel. Still writing, singing and performing her own music, Karmah has managed to secure uncountable performances under her belt, including opening for BET Comic View in 2002 and performing for none other than Bernie Mac at the end of the season show. She opened for Fat Joe at the Congress Theatre in Chicago 2002 and performed with the entire Forilla Family at the Yankee Stadium in N.Y. (Ruff Ryders Car Show 2005) She also performed for Shaquille ONeal at a function in L.A in 2004.

Karmah is proud of where God has brought her, from her music career and where he is about to take her, for that I will always give praise, where praise is do and that is to the creator.
