It all started with a drunken text. The tight 4 piece Rock Band based in the Philly suburbs is built around the vocal stylings and rhythm guitar of raven-haired Beth Arnold Gilbert.
Karmalatta delivers melodic and dynamic vocals wrapped in a guitar driven energy best experienced at their live shows. Joining Beth is Brien Mick (lead guitar & backup vocals), Greg Beltz (bassist & backing vocals) and Andrew Owens (percussion.)
The newly reformed Karmalatta members were meant to come back together (said the universe) and did so for an impromptu show in October 2015. The night unexpectedly lead to prolific songwriting sessions with the band members. Capitalizing on their undeniable energy, the band immediately went to TTR studios outside Philly in Germantown to cement their commitment to the music and their sound. The outcome in 2017 was a six song Debut EP "Sheep Eater." This EP is an introspective exploration into a range of personal relationships experienced by the band members. The songs describe intense emotions brought to life by everything from empty fantasy nothingness, to deep connection, unresolved love and lost friendships. In the end “Sheep Eater” is about coming out of hibernation and the hopefulness of fearlessly moving forward.
With the band's first recording under their belt, the songwriting continues and their next full length CD is already in progress. As they continue to hone their sound at their live shows, Karmalatta brings it at each and every show. They are active on social media, working hard on their show promotion to bring the maximum impact to every venue they play.
