Bio

Karrie
My name is Karrie (O’Sullivan) and I’m starting my second career following a long time as a horse trainer in County Kerry. It seems I have a knack for picking industries that are very difficult to progress in, have long hours and are likely to cost more than I will ever earn. My influences are many, but I’m flattered to be compared with Rickki Jones and Joni Mitchell. I’m a big fan of Cathy Davy, Paddy Casey and Mick Flannery.
I have a full set of songs for a live gig which I can play with a full band or one or two guitarists.
I released a single, Karrie, “Have We Got Plans” in April which was picked up and play-listed by 4 local radio stations. It was also featured many times on the Alf McCarthy Late Date show on RTE 1. I have had lifestyle interviews for The Kerry’s Eye, Kerryman, The Irish Examiner and recorded in house sessions with KCLR fm and featured on Radio Kerry on the 11 to 1 Club with Francis Jones. My second single received Airplay on RTE 1 The Late Date, John Creedon, Ronan Collins and “Risin Time” with Shay Byrne. Other songs from the album are featured on Lyric Fm with Carl Corcoran and John Creedon on RTE 1.

The process of recording my first album JellyLegged involved me taking my lyrics and melodies to Chris Ahern at Colaiste Stiofan Naofa in Cork, who put on guitar chords and we developed it with session musicians from there. Pat Ahern then produced the album and it was mastered in Los Angeles by Killarney man Ruairi O’ Flaherty.
The most upbeat radio friendly tracks to check out are: Have We Got Plans, Greener Grass, This Crush and Dopey Like Minds. The atmospheric tracks to check out for radio are: Hey Baby, Stay Away, and Elbow Deep. Seven of these songs have already featured on National RTE1 and RTE Lyric FM in Ireland
