Kasaan Steigen - Songwriter/Producer

Kasaan Steigen graduated with honors from Idyllwild Arts Academy (’90) with certificates in Dance and General Arts. Kasaan began writing songs while a student at IAA, and she was part of one of the first pop music recording projects at the school. She went on to study Performance Studies and Dance at Northwestern University and California Institute of the Arts.

From 1994-2002, Kasaan recorded and performed under the artist name Rigsi and her own name. During this time, she was a featured artist in clubs in Los Angeles and New York and had several of her songs debuted on Top 40 radio stations in Portland (OR), Seattle and Reno (NV). One of her first breaks was co-writing the theme song for the international action film “Crossfire” in 1996. In 1997, her original music attracted the attention of Elektra Records and RCA Records, ultimately leading to a brief recording deal with Elektra Records.

Over the years, Kasaan has written, produced and recorded over 100 original songs herself and with various artists in studios in New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Portland (OR), Vancouver (BC), and Hawaii, and she has had the opportunity to work with award-winning recording engineers and musicians. She has also won several awards and honorable mentions in regional and national songwriting contests.

As an artist manager and owner of Trigger Management since 2002, Kasaan has also had the great opportunity to observe, coach and be a part of the writing and producing process with clients ranging from new artists to one Hall of Fame songwriter. She produces and publishes her own catalog and work she has done with other artists under the name Rigsi Productions.
