Kasper

Dustin Sheehan a.k.a. “Kasper” was born Aug. 30.1985 in St. Louis Park Minnesota. At the age of 12 Kasper began to notice his talent in the written and spoken word. Influenced by music of all kinds from B.B. King, Fat Joe and Aero Smith. After writing for a few years on doing open mics at coffee shops he wanted to take his writings past the paper and move to track, so he began working and slowly building his own studio one part at a time in his bedroom of his parent’s house. Were he would learn how to create drum loops that he could lay his poems over. He would go onto record a 9 track tape and have it herd amongst friends and family. After connecting with a co-worker the summer of 11th grade he would be introduced to Studio 4 were he would go onto recording his Debut album entitled “ 2 Shades Whiter Than Chalk” that would go on to selling 30,000 copies by himself and local record shops. After releasing the album we would go on to be named Artist of the year in 2003 at his high school The High School for Recording Arts. In 2004 Kasper’s mushily awaited follow up album would be released entitled “Looks Deceive You” which would have a great response by doing performances all across the state at such night clubs as 1st Ave. The Quest, Bunkers and the Red Sea were Kasper would make the biggest name for himself in the eye of the city. Besides doing shows at night clubs Kasper has found great fame in the suburbs and teen centers across the state like in his home town doing shows at his former high school Minnetonka High School were he would become a local celebrity breaking ticket sales and selling out the place 4 years in a row. He has made musical appearances at The Mall of America 2 years in a row. Rondo Days in St. Paul Minnesota in front of a crowd of 5,000. The thing that sets Kasper apart from everyone else is the fact that he doesnt swear in his music at all. He has made television appearances on local shows, performed at The Minnesota Science Museum. And was once again named HSRA Artist of the Year 2004. After graduating high school in 2004 Kasper has moved on the collage at The Institute of Production And Recording were he is going for a Music Business and Audio Production Degree. And he plans on taking his Indy Record Label and making something out of it. So how does a tall white kid from the suburbs of Minnesota make a giant splash in the local hip hop scean in Minnesota?? By being a very confident, driven young man who wont let anything get in his way, by using his original voice and style along with creative word play and powerful stage presence. Kasper lets his music speak for his self by listening to any given song this young man has recorded you can see there is something special about this kid.
