KaSwiss

Born Keasha Lee, 31 March 1974, Chicago, Illinois. Raised on the southside of Chicago, KaSwiss began participating in talent showcases with other local hopefuls at the age of 9. First rising to prominence as the premier rapper with singing trio Emaj managed by Actor Mel Jackson, KaSwiss launched a solo/rap career on her own. She first began when producer of Emaj, Melvin (Mello) Colvard needed a female rapper for a verse. Mello called KaSwiss to the mic and soon discovered that she had a voice. KaSwiss didn’t dive in just yet; she went on a sabbatical from the music industry at age 18 to be a parent and pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. At college, she also studied music, and theatre. KaSwiss continued to write lyrics/rhymes at home, then as an adult decided she wanted to start our own business in the music industry as a writer and performer. She decided to give it a final shot, and eventually, branch into acting. KaSwiss prides herself in being one of the more mature artists (age wise) in the game with the ability to appeal to both the younger and original hip hop generation. In 2007, she recorded four singles that she performed throughout southern California, but never commercially released. KaSwiss now resides near Atlanta, GA and performs throughout the city. October 15th, 2011 she will release her debut Singles “Her Booty Broke” and “Swiss Gets Da Cheese. KaSwiss gives a variety of music from dance tracks, club bangers, tracks with a laid back tone, and definitely ones with an old school hip hop feel. Her excellent cadence, metaphoric/lyrical approach and powerful performance is what makes her an artist who pops. You can expect serious content, humor at times, and music to uplift and inspire. KaSwiss has performed on the same bill as some of the members of the WuTang Clan, appeared in “Hip Hops Purest Form” with Baba Zoom and Female Lyricist Medusa, in CA. In Nov. 2011, KaSwiss will launch her regional promo tour to celebrate the release of her singles. Tour route will include cities throughout GA, AL, TN, FL SC, NC, Chicago and New York.
