Katalin

BandPopSoul

Handmade pop music with many influences from groovy 60s beat and soul as well as 70s disco, sweet as sugar. Some similar bands could be The Cardigans, Belle And Sebastian or Lucky Soul. Big variety, sexy music, funky live shows, that's Katalin.

Biography

Katalin play sugarpop. Sugarpop rocks.

That's smooth cuddly melodies.
That's rock'n'roll with addiction to kitsch.
That's swing underneath the disco ball.

All in all music that makes sweet chicks bounce their ponytails and bearded hippies grab their air guitars.

Flying on a shag rug carpet the gentle listener glides into a musical cockaigne, where only one rule exists: always be sweet and groovy!

On stage the five deliver a coitus-motivating performance with ecstatic poser soli, bewitching choirs and short dresses. And they look damn good thereby.

Katalin are not indie, they are pop.
Katalin are not cool, they are funky.
Katalin are Katalin.

Lyrics

Never Be Mine

Written By: Katalin Kleemann

You’re selling sweet illusions
I’m selling lovely tunes
We both are fucking mirages
But that’s what makes it cool

You’re looking real damn awesome
And give me that funky thrill
I’ll copy you and add some soul
And get the perfect kill

Hey, hey, hey
You, you, you
You will never ever
May come whatever
Never be mine

From my nose to my toes I’m screaming
That I wanna be with you
Luckily you can’t hear me
Cause you wouldn’t give a hoot

So we keep on playing
Maybe that’s just fine
But I’m craving for a happy end
That life would never write

Hey, hey, hey
You, you, you
You will never ever
May come whatever

Hey, hey, hey
You, you, you
You will never ever
May come whatever
You’ll never be mine

You’re already gone and it tears me up
Though I would never tell
Out of sight is out of mind
Shall be a mighty spell
Hey…

Hey, hey, hey
You, you, you
You will never ever
May come whatever

Hey, hey, hey
You, you, you
Hey, hey, hey
You, you, you
You will never ever
You’ll never be mine

Prince Of Sleeky Cats

Written By: Katalin Kleemann

You promised me a pony
You would buy when I’m grown up
I knew that you would break my heart
But I, I didn’t give a fuck

We were sitting in the soft moonlight
And softly you told me
We should let our toes be tickled by the sun
Down by the sea

But instead of going anywhere
I was just going sad
Your empty shirt’s still waiting on my bed

There’s one thing that you should know
(One thing that he should know)
What I might have done and missed to show
(What she might have missed to show)
Although I didn’t want to, baby
Although I didn’t want to
I kinda liked you

We were out watching the game
And having a cold wine
Your eyes where still so warm
And my stupid heart thought you’d be mine

My mistake was to tell you
’Bout my mistakes by the way
I wasn’t prepared for the case
That honesty won’t pay

And instead of holding your hand now
I’m holding on to cry
I’m waiting for your call now for a while

There’s one thing that you should know
(One thing that he should know)
What I might have done and missed to show
(What she might have missed to show)
Although I didn’t want to, baby
Although I didn’t want to
I kinda liked you

I wonder what you’re doing now
I’m afraid you’re doing fine
I could have done better
Keeping me mouth shut for this time

There’s one thing that you should know
(One thing that he should know)
What I might have done and missed to show
(What she might have missed to show)
Although I didn’t want to, baby
Although I didn’t want to, honey
Although I didn’t want
I kinda la-la-liked you

Come And Go

Written By: Katalin Kleemann, Alexander Dommisch, Richard Schaeffer

(Hey man, wake up and smell the coffee
That girl’s so damn hot
She’s looking right through you
If you want it or not
You still don’t get it? So listen up)

Shut the fuck up now and kiss me you fool
That’s enough can’t you see that I don’t wanna talk to you
Oh take me home and don’t ask me it’s okay
I will be gone tomorrow anyway

Don’t you just stare and don’t try to behave
I am longing for your hips more than I care about your face
Oh take me home and don’t ask me it’s alright
It won’t last longer than this one sweet night

No, I won’t fall in love with you
Just that you know: men come and go!
Oh, life’s too short to be prude
It’s always good to have an interlude

Now that we’re done please don’t tickle my neck
It won’t fit to the bite marks and scratches on your back
Well I go home, just keep cool, don’t be mad
Don’t want to see the sunbeams on your head

No, i won’t fall in love with you
Just that you know: men come and go!
Oh, life’s too short to be prude
It’s always good to have an interlude, interlude…

No, i won’t fall in love with you
Just that you know: men come and go!
Oh, life’s too short to be prude
And it is always good to have an interlude

(Hey, you ain’t no genius man
She wants to give you heaven on earth
Comfort you and treat you like the king of France
But you still don’t get it? No chance, man
You blew it, fool, hahaha…)
