Bio
When you think of how hip-hop is defined in todays society, its true definition is anything but apparent. But in its inception the definition of hip-hop was clear to all of its followers because hip-hop was not just music it was in fact a culture. Hip-hop was a culture that involved art, style and most of all an uncensored, an unfiltered expression of urban street life. Many artists enter the hip-hop scene today hoping to make a hit record, but every once in a while there comes an artist whose style and talent is so phenomenal that he can only be described as a diamond in the rough. Most of the time he will go unrecognized until he decides that hes ready to let the world hear whats been brewing underground. Well, get ready to experience an artist whos sound encompasses the then, the now and what's to come. Rooted in real hip-hop culture, he understands the meaning and purpose behind every lyric he utters and the fact that he has been given a platform to express more than good music, hes been granted a gift to express himself. A Katalyst by nature, Katalyst is definitely not your average At age 12,Katalyst decided to start break dancing, He quickly mastered the art of break dance. Break dancing gave Katalyst an outlet to express his creativity while crafting himself an identity. Katalyst's discovery of his MCing and lyrical abilities came rather unexpected. Actually, one of Katalysts friends told him about a rap contest that was being held at the local skating rink. He told his friend I am not an MC! Katalysts friend however convinced him to at least try it out. He decided to write his first rhyme, and this marked the beginning of his affinity for MCing. Katalyst had soon found a new love, MCing and what underground kids knew as Spittn. He wrote rhymes daily and battled other MCs perfecting his craft. Katalyst quickly gained the recognition of fellow MCs because he won almost every rap contest he entered. It then became apparent to Katalyst and his peers that this was not just a hobby, but also rather a gift, a calling, something that Katalyst was destined to do from the beginning. When asked to talk about why he chose to pursue music as a profession, Katalyst simply stated, "I love writing songs and producing tracks. I love movin tha crowd and receiving love for something I love to do. I never analyzed my position as an artist until I put down the Mic and it kept coming back to me like a boomerang. I was told that if you love something, then let it go, I let it (music) go but it kept coming back. I realize now that everyone is put here for a specific purpose, I finally realize that one of mine is music.
