Bio

KATE LeROUX
Kate's influences vary greatly. From Carole King, CSN and Joni Mitchell to Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Rait & Heart, along with Patsy Cline, Hank Williams Sr, and George Jones. Throw in some classic Musicals and Frank Zappa to confuse the issue further.
Kate has been invited to write with some world class songwriter's, including, long-time friend and mentor, "Wayne Carson", The Letter, Always on My Mind, Soul Deep & many more. And also with "Tim Cook" of "The Subdudes".
Kate's unexpected rhythms and clever lyrics catch people's attention. Every song takes you on a short journey.

Kate (Kathy) was born into a musical family. Her father "Jack" was a popular Big-Band Leader for "Dutch LeRoux and his Orchestra" in up-state New York during the 40's & 50's and up until his untimely death at the age of 33.
Kate says, "Music was the glue that held us together growing up without a father." Kate's mother "Rose" became a widow at 32 years-old. A pregnant mother of four boys. The child Rose was carrying when Jack passed away was the girl he'd always wanted; Kathryn Mary LeRoux. Rose said to the doctor right after Jack's passing, "It's a shame...all that music gone." The doctor replied, "No it isn't, it's in the genes."

The doctor was right about that. To this day 4 out of 5 LeRoux siblings are professional musicians and currently perform together, along with four other tremendous musicians that make up the locally famous, Dance/Show band, "Nacho Men".

Kate's solo career as a Singer/Songwriter has been taking off. The musicians that have been performing in her original band are the Cream of the Crop.

In 1982 Kate (Kathy) Le Roux appeared as a soloist on TNN's "You Can Be A Star". Winning the daily show, Kate was invited back to compete with that weeks finalists. Although she was beat out by a 5 piece vocal group, Kate kept on singing and writing.

In 1988 Kate volunteered through the D.O.D. to perform for the Military in the South Pacific for 2 months. Traveling to: Korea, Japan, Okinawa, Diego Garcia, The Philippines and Australia.

In 1999 Kate traveled to Europe with the "Nacho Men". Touring Rome, Corsica and the French Riviera.

Kate has performed for thousands all over the Country as well.
Kate has Sold Out Concerts at the Swallow Hill Music Hall's Tuft Theater 2 years in a row, (2008 & 2009).
"The Kate LeRoux Band" is quickly becoming a favorite Original act in the Denver area. In August of 2009 Kate's first band opened for "The Subdudes" at The Paramount Theater in Denver. September of 2010 Kate opened for them as a soloist at a show in Fort Collins, CO.
