"Katelyn Benton"

Colorado Singer/Songwriter - At age 15, Katelyn released Sycamore Street.

When she performed at the Celeste Krenz and 3 Twins Christmas show with her original solo holiday song, the crowd realized they were witnessing true talent of piano composition, songwriting, and singing.  And as she walked off the stage, she showed her maturity and confidence by jumping back in as the band started with a spontaneous side by side piano jam exchange with the great John Magnie...  It was a highlight of the evening...  - Dwight - Dwight Mark

Bio

Whether you're looking for an intimate acoustic performance for your venue, or a high energy full band set, my set list and experience is broad enough to cover all of your musical needs.

I grew up in Colorado, getting involved in Denver’s music scene when I was in junior high. By the time I was 15 I had released a full length independent album, was booked regularly with my band, and formed a following that continues to be loyal today. I was lucky enough to fall under the mentorship of John Magnie (Subdudes), Jeremy Lawton (Big Head Todd and the Monsters), Celeste Krenz (singer/songwriter) among others.

My performances and writing have lead me to life performance opportunities around the country, and awards and recognition at a young age, including several titles at the World Champions of Performing Arts and a scholarship to Berklee College of Music.

Since Fall of 2004, I have been in Boston attending Berklee College of Music, majoring in Contemporary Writing and Production. It has been a dream of mine to come and study at Berklee and I’m so glad I’ve had this opportunity to learn more about my craft and meet such amazing people.

Some of my influences outside of my Colorado music family include Carol King, Mindy Smith, Ben Folds, Sheryl Crow, Fiona Apple, Bic Runga, and Debussy.
