Bio
The New Single - The Stereo:
A desperado-disco shoot out. Donna Summer stares down Nancy Sinatra in a dark disco party track where retro synths mingle with classic 60s guitar.
The New Album:
Snappy pop tunes with driving tempos and peppy beats and lyrics. Something to dance around your bedroom to! Reminiscent of production sounds that the Rage generation grew up with, referencing vintage classics but informed with a contemporary edginess. Like a 60s girl band flirting with 80s pop, tainted with a mood-lit soundscape that draws from David Lynch imagery.
Kate Vigo Bio:
With her next musical mission Kate Vigo continues her cosmic journey through and outside of genres, calling upon her uncanny non-linear perception of time that allows her to see everything that was, is, or could be at the same time. From the unearthing of raw and acoustic timbres as realised in her last exploration Someone Better, to her endeavour to fuse the organic and the synthetic in her upcoming sessions with renowned producer and composer Jan Skubiszewski along with band member and co-producer Dan Macdonald, Kate will undoubtedly prove herself as an artist in full command of her craft. Kates fearless compositional approach salutes her influences from The Immaculate Collection to Blue Velvet and flows out into her song writing, capturing a reminiscence combined with a contemporary feel to her upcoming release.
The new album promises driving tempos and peppy beats and lyrics; Kate says A lot of my existing work is a little dark and broody, inspired by the beauty in tragedy. Now I feel like I want to have fun and write songs people can dance around in their bedroom to. There is definitely still a dark element though.
Coming from an enriched musical platform Kate has unrelentingly launched herself at a vast array of projects, including a recent collaboration with Clare Bowditch that will feature on the new album. In 2010 Kates attitude toward her craft propelled her into the Australian Music consciousness and achievements such as a Musicoz Award for Best Video for The Way You Are, selection to attend the APRA/AMCOS Song Summit in Sydney, featuring on MAX Music, a track on Network Tens new series Offspring, a live performance on ABCs Art Nation, and receiving radio airplay on Triple J, Radar Radio and Fox FM.

REVIEWS
A great record, full of vocal magic and seductive loops that are by turns playful, wistful and dark. Its experimental pop thats still fun, sitting somewhere between Billie Holiday and Zap Mama
self-penned wistful love-songs which are personal, but oddly universal
Eclectic, versatile, part pop, electronic and stylish 60s torch rock, all awesome.
Beat Magazine
Kate Vigos voice is soaring
her poignant portrayal stops you in your tracks.

A little bit pop, and a whole lot entrancing.
Herald Sun, HIT
In the wake of Lily Allen, Adele and Duffy, Britain has put out such an army of young, nice-but-mouthy-when-they-need-to-be soulful female singers. Vigos doing a damn impressive job of picking up our local slack in this department, proving as vocally powerful and potentially feisty as any of the above.
