One of Kat’s earliest memories: jumping on her bed at the age of 3, belting out Annie’s “Tomorrow”. Even at such a young age, she had already discovered her love for singing and soon she was performing and competing at every talent show she could find. Kat eventually progressed to singing on collaborations with Vancouver hip-hop artists, while developing her ability to write memorable hooks and melodies.
She has recently taken her songwriting to the next level by pairing up with producer 'DJ Hunt' (Hunter Pearson). With his direction she is finally making her mark as a recording artist and they are currently in the studio working on her debut EP.
This February, Kat was selected by Virgin 95.3 FM Vancouver as their "Best of BC" featured artist. Her debut single 'Runaway' was added to rotation, alongside interviews broadcast throughout the week. The response from listeners has been overwhelmingly positive with on-air DJ's frequently comparing 'Runaway' to the likeness of 'early Madonna.'
Although her music is undeniably 'pop' with broad appeal, Kat's diverse musical influences extend her sound to keep it new and fresh. Whether she's drawing inspiration from 80's rock or singing with the soul of the 60's, every song is a new adventure.
