Bio
Kathy Fry has been singing ever since she can remember. Her earliest recollections are of singing along with Pete Seeger and Peter, Paul and Mary records playing on the family phonograph. At 16, she bought her first guitar at a garage sale. She taught herself to play, and at 18 began performing with a country band in local clubs. She worked with several cover bands until rediscovering folk music, hearing it played on WFMT in Chicago and Wisconsin public radios Simply Folk.
Kathy began writing songs in her early 20s, and was inspired to write the songs for her first independently produced CD, Solitary Heart, after traveling to Ontario to meet with a songwriter who was looking for someone to do demos of his songs. Since the release of the CD, she has been working in local clubs and is planning a regional tour.
