She was a founding member of the Shotgun Players in Berkeley where she acted and directed until a handsome set designer married her and brought her home to the East Coast. Katie started writing songs when her twins finally started sleeping through the night, and those midnight scribblings eventually became her debut CD, Let Me Down Easy.

Katie's songs are intimate stories of love and the joy and heartbreak it can bring. With a rich, soothing voice reminiscent of Natalie Merchant and Kris Delmhorst, Katie's songs flow over you and into your heart.

It Should Be Raining

Written By: Katie Frassinelli

It Should Be Raining

Last box in the trunk
Your other foot out the door
You told me last night you’d found another
You just don’t want me anymore

You said baby keep in touch
And your eyes sparkled in the sun
I could see then how you loved her
Your life like morning had begun

It should be raining
It should be raining
You walked away on a beautiful day
It should be raining

I said honey please don’t go
But my words got taken by the breeze
That carried my love into these mountains
But why can’t it set me free

It should be raining
It should be raining
You walked away on a beautiful day
It should be raining

But maybe this thing we had just wasn’t right
Maybe the skies really know
And if you were true and well worth the fight
The heavens would just overflow

It would be raining
It would be raining
If love walked away on a beautiful day
It would start raining

I think I’ll lie down for a while
Draw the curtains block the light
Maybe tomorrow I’ll rise triumphant
If I can just get to the night

The Long Way Home

Written By: Katie Frassinelli

When he thinks of heaven he pictures her blue eyes
And for those curls he’d walk a thousand miles
The dance is over, the night draws to a close
The she asks him to walk her the long way home.

And he says
I could hold your hand forever
I could walk with you all night
The stars are fading and the sun’s about to rise
But I’m not ready to say goodbye

From moonlit walk into front porch light
They thank each other for a lovely night
Her lavender perfume he knows that’s what he’d miss
So he holds her gently for one soft kiss

And he says
I could hold your hand forever
I could walk with you all night
The stars are fading and the sun’s about to rise
But I’m not ready to say goodbye

She finds her key, turns the porch light off
A spring in his step down the long brick walk
He turns to see her bedroom light go on
She opens the window, he holds his breath as she begins to talk

And she says
I could hold your hand forever
I could walk with you all night
The stars are fading and the sun’s about to rise
But I’m not ready to say goodbye
