Bio

I actually met Eddy when I signed up to take jazz piano lessons from him a few years ago. During the lessons, he encouraged me start writing music. I was a senior in high school when I brought in the beginnings of our first song, "Sleet and Slow." He loved my ideas, and he offered some really great ideas of his own. We ended up deciding to record the song in his home studio. During this process, we realized that we had a unique musical connection--we were both very open to each others suggestions and were able to work incredibly well together, we enjoyed the same styles, and we had the same artistic vision. After "Sleet and Slow," we received glowing feedback and words of encouragement from our friends and families, and we decided to continue writing music together.

Eddy is a husband and the father of three beautiful children, and I am now a full time college student at the University of North Texas in Denton, so we have had little time to devote to our project. But, somehow, during the few months I'm home in Austin during the year, and by sending tracks back and forth over the internet, we have managed to create a five song EP that I think is incredibly promising. I believe in it so much, in fact, that I plan to move back to Austin after I graduate so I can work with Eddy full-time.

The reason I think we have something so great is because it is so unique. Eddy and I have our backgrounds in jazz, but we love electronic, pop, folk, experimental, classical...there are aspects of practically every genre that we enjoy. When we're working on a specific song, we usually like to hone in on a few specific influences. For example, "Prism Heart" was written while we were listening to a lot of the Postal Service and Beck. We also incorporated some orchestral sounds from classical influences, and some jazz harmonies. In short, we love taking a bit of everything and stirring it all up to make something totally new, fresh, and creative!

We are just about to release our first EP, so we're starting to book shows and get our music out there as much as possible. Eddy already has a great fan base of his own (http://eddyhobizal.com/), so we definitely have a good jumping off point. I truly believe we have something really special--a sound that no one else out there can claim. We hope you'll enjoy our music as much as we do.
