"Longing, optimism mark Cason's music"

"Katieland", the debut release of Katie Cason, is a pocket of Crayola daydreams.

Katie combines clever wordplay with catchy melodies, loosely tying all pieces together into an atmospheric playground of imagery and sound.

The six-song EP starts with "Wildflower", a flighty, swimmy, optimistic ballad filled with visions of rolling fields, flowers, and love smiling back at you.

Before you know it, Katie has caught you in her spell.

You have now entered Katieland, a happy place where you can breathe in and out, because there is always plenty of atmosphere to go around.

Katie masterfully captures the very essence of true longing in the first line of the song, "Constellations" where she chants: "If I was a star, would you travel very far just to watch me burn?"

Katie's introspective musings capture a wild and uninhibited flare with your throaty, soulful voice while maintaining a tasteful semblance of sweet. "Uncensored Thoughts" takes things a step further when Katie's off-the-spectrum vocals peer into near unforbidden territory- her own uncensored thoughts.

Katieland reveals an intriguing musical character of whimsy and dreams, someone who will make you truely believe in a place where two kisses and a count to ten can make everything alright again.
