As a tech expert, Katie Linendoll spends as much time on her computers as she does in the field.
If youve seen Linendoll discussing technology and sports during her many appearances on ESPN, CNN, The Today Show and more, then you know that this self-proclaimed nerd sees to it that her life is packed with adventure, whether shes challenging IBM supercomputer/know-it-all Watson to a game of Jeopardy, flying over the Pacific Ocean wearing a jetpack, driving a life-sized Mario Kart, detoxing (and surviving!) in digital rehab, winning the Guinness World Record for performing the most high fives in 60 seconds, or shared a stage with Lady Gagaall in the name of tech.
Originally from Erie, Penn., Linendoll has been tech-minded since childhood and earned her networking certificates before graduating high school. She received her bachelors degree in information technology from Rochester Institute of Technology, and went on to launch her professional career with ESPN. At age 22, she won an Emmy Award for her work on SportsCenter. She moved on, and a few years later, she received another Emmy nomination as the tech host of A&E's We Mean Business.
Today, Linendolls career has come full circle as she returns to ESPN as a sports-tech contributor for the network, as well as ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine. Now a seasoned TV personality, Linendoll brings to ESPN a broad range of experience. A weekly contributor on CNN, she also hosts All Access Weekly, a show on Spike TV focused on tech, gaming and comics. She contributes regularly to CBSNews.com's Health Pop and People Style Watch Magazine. Throughout her career, Linendoll has discussed the latest technology on The Nate Berkus Show, The Early Show, The Today Show, ABC News Now and in dozens of radio interviews across the US and Canada. In addition, publications such as Fitness Magazine, Forbes.com, Parents.com, Oprah.com, Yahoo! Finance and more have regularly consulted Linendolls expertise. As a former technology host at HSN, Linendoll was responsible for more than $20 million in sales for the network. She has also participated in media projects with Dell, HP, Hyatt, IBM, Cadillac and Lincoln and leads speaking engagements across the country.
In her free time, Linendoll is a committed fan of WWE's Monday Night Rawin fact, shes never missed a single episode. She also volunteers regularly with NYC Candlelighters, a non-profit that serves the families of children who are undergoing cancer treatment.
