Biography

If you could pick up Boston’s collegiate mind and run it through New York City’s gritty streets while picking up some New Orleans Gumbo and Texas BBQ, you might just find yourself in the middle of a Katie Locke and Bullet Proof Tiger show. Since the group’s inception in the fall of 2008, Ms. Locke and the Tiger have been hard at work thinking and creating to bring you a fresh palette of sound that combines cerebrally organized songs and sophisticated melodies with organic groove and soul. Armed with a musical education that could put any College of Music out of business, and enough life stories for a hit reality show, these five kids are remembering what writing real music is all about.

Lyrics

Watch and Wait

Written By: Katie Locke and Lucas Madrazo

Verse 1:
She would go if she were ready
Sitting, waiting in her car
Trying to hold the wheel steady
But she never gets too far

Chorus:
You just Watch and Wait
But it never comes your way
You just Watch and Wait
The timing's never right you say
Nearly everyone
Jumps at the starting gun
They'll steal your chance away
While you just Watch and Wait

Verse 2:
So the seasons move around her
While she's wondering what to say
She prays the ground will shift beneath her
Hoping it'll help her find her way

Chorus: (repeat)

(Gtr. Solo, then Chorus repeat)

I've Had Enough

Written By: Katie Locke

I'll only have one kind of man
His love is scattered like the sand
I always pray the ground will hold
But each time I'm left with wreckage in my hands.

There's no mark upon my face
But I'm bruised in other ways
All the pain I swallow down
What's it gonna' take for me to say?

Don't you see I've Had Enough?
Don't you see I've Had Enough?
Won't fake my way
Through another day, yeah
I give up, I've Had Enough
I've Had Enough.

Every friend I've ever known
Has tried to drag me up the slope
But I just keep sliding back
Till' one by one, they leave me on my own.

Chorus (repeat)

One day I'll find
The strength I have inside
But not this time
Not this time.

Chorus (repeat)

I'll only have one kind of man
His love is scattered like the sand
I always pray the ground will hold.

Losing You

Written By: Katie Locke and Nick Diaz

Another number
Joins the fight
Heart beating like a drum.
I never figured
You were the type
To play what can't be won.

Bullets ricochet, honey
And hit you where you're soft.
While you were struggling
To be so brave
I couldn't take the loss.

I met a man from Memphis
Who took away the pain
And when you get my letter
I know just what you'll say...

Always thought I'd be the one
But it was you who came undone
Looks like I'm Losing You
Looks like I'm Losing You.

Now every whisper
Detonates
Though you're safe at home
Though you're safe at home.
Wearing the same thing
Everyday
You're not the man I've known.

Shadows blur your vision
Too sudden to forget
My heart's a losing battle
You never stood a chance...

Chorus (repeat)

(Gtr. Solo)

Chorus (repeat 2X)
