Bio

„Katie Lunette“ is the lead singer for a six- piece band that has been playing together for a long time. Last year Ms. Lunette, together with producer Marcus Wippers- berg (who already has sound engineering credits for the last six albums of grammy winner John McLaughlin under his belt) started work on her new English langua- ge album “Road of Gold”, which features a large portion of songs written by Katie herself.
Katie first gained a lot of media and au- dience attention with her debut full length “Good Housewives”, a bluesy and folky homage to the late 1950s. Some tracks on that album, like the cover version of Woodstock hit “On the Road Again” – and especially Katie’s live shows – already showed in which musical direction Ms. Lunette would be heading in the future. “We often had the feeling at shows that we wanted more... more guitars, more
vocals, more pop” says Katie. “Road of Gold” is exactly that. 14 catchy songs, different guitars with vintage sound, har- monic backing vocals which prove to be a great counterpart to Katies lead vocals. You won’t find many ballads on this al- bum, but a barrage of uptempo tracks with a lot of hit potential, spiced with fun- ny yet thoughtful English lyrics and great musicianship on the part of the band. Katie’s diverse personality (aside form her musical aspirations she is also a highly successful TV host and author in her native Austria) definitely shines through on all 14 songs on “Road of Gold”. Every track has its own charac- teristic features – be it a lyric, a guitar lick or a chorus, or maybe just a single word... However all of the songs have one thing in common: they will catch your ear on the first listen and will leave you playing them over and over again.
