BandCountry

Katie's smooth and powerful vocals are reminiscent of Country Music greats Martina McBride and Faith Hill, with a youthful edge that resembles the superstars of today like Carrie Underwood

Biography

At the tender age of six, Katie discovered that she loved to sing country music after
performing a rendition of “Grandpa Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Ole’ Days” by the Judds for her
Gido’s 75th birthday. From that moment on, she thrived on performing for family and friends, and
began taking classical singing and piano lessons as soon as she could.

At the age of 15, she showcased her already
considerable talents to the public by entering her first
Country Vocal Spotlight competition. Choosing to sing a
Martina McBride song, Katie’s strong and powerful voice
won over the judges, who awarded her first place!

Through her teenage years, Katie won numerous
contests and garnered many rave reviews during her stint
with Global Country’s Rising Star program. She became
the first artist to have back-to-back wins at the Country
Vocal Spotlight and Talent Explosion competitions and
was named the 2005 North American Country Music
Association’s International Female Entertainer and
Vocalist of the Year.

Katie also continued to follow through with her classical singing until she earned
accreditation in Grade 8 Royal Conservatory, and competed in many provincial Opera contests.
She also believed strongly in pursuing her education and recently completed her Bachelor of
Commerce degree with honors.

Songwriting is also one of Katie’s many musical gifts. She has spent considerable time in
the past couple of years collaborating with some of Nashville’s greatest songwriters. The music
she writes, reflects her youthful and vibrant personality, and brings a fresh and different
perspective to country music.

Katie’s many appearances at major entertainment events within North America have
allowed her to gain the experience, maturity and poise that will successfully carry her forward
into the international country music scene.

“An absolute solid performer. Katie delivers the whole package; a rich soulful voice, with the
poise and confidence of a performer well beyond her years.” - Sharon Mallon, CFCW Radio.

“ Katie still stands as one of the most Talented and beautiful Artists who has ever passed
through here.” - Guy Hornbuckle, Anchor/Producer, WTVA/NBC-TV, Tupelo, Mississippi.

Lyrics

When's The Wedding

Written By: Katie Mission/Matt Jenkins/Josh Osbourne

V1
I’m really not the type to fall in love at first sight
Never seemed to happen to me
But my heart stopped when I saw him at the coffee shop
In line in front of me

Hello turned to dinner, and dinner turned to drinks
Now I’m callin up mama and pickin out a ring

Chorus
Maybe I’m getting a bit ahead of myself
But the song in my head is playin’ chapel bells
I see family throwin’ rice and an old Volkswagen
Just married in the window and some tin cans dragging’
On the blacktop baby, you can call me crazy
But I’m already ready
When’s the weddin?

V2
Things were heatin up it took less than a month
For things to start getting serious
He’s acting kinda nervous almost like he’s been rehearsin
Down on one knee I gotta ask you this

Am I movin too fast, is it all too soon?
Baby I’m already on the honeymoon

Bridge
It feels like forever to me
Yellow cake, white dress
Yes to the whole thing

Chorus
Maybe I’m getting a bit ahead of myself
But the song in my head is playin’ chapel bells
I see family throwin’ rice and an old Volkswagen
Just married in the window and some tin cans dragging’
On the blacktop baby, you can call me crazy
But I’m already ready
Yeah I’m already ready
Yeah I’m already ready
When’s the weddin?

Better Together

Written By: Katie Mission/Ryan Laird

V1
You come from a population still growing town
Where everybody knows everything
Could never hide from your momma what you didn’t want her to know
Like us and that summer fling

I grew up in a perfect fairytale dream
If I asked I’d get anything
But all I ever wanted was to make a few mistakes on my own
You helped me cut those strings

Chorus
Here we are
No one thought we’d make it
so far
There’s no way to break it
Here with you
Holding me
Forever
We’re better together

V2
They said I couldn’t see you said you were no good
For me so we’d sneak around
Even though we were kids, it was fate they couldn’t stop us then
Just look at us now

Chorus
