A review of the band's recent live performance at the Hope & Anchor, Islington by Neon Promotions in September 2007 stated the "band play a tuneful set that has quite a rock edge to it - while some songs are light and commercially-flavoured others lean more towards heavier rock tones, the overall impression being something like Cardigans/Divinyls."
In particular, the reviewer praised KTP Elements', "uncluttered sound for the most part with bass and drums being tight and well-controlled, but a few wilder moments see tamborines bongos and some great lead guitar solos that even Slash wouldn't be ashamed of. The vocal is a treat too - husky, strong and reaching some pleasing rock tones. Subtle but explosive." - LAney

Katie Parker & The Elements are a distinctive retro guitar-driven rock band. Fronted by the flexible and powerful voice of Cambridge Pyschology Student Katie Parker, they fuse old style riffs with edgy rhythm driven commercial rock. The band seek to explore different styles and maintain variety in their music whilst always producing the high energy and groove established as the Elements sound.
Katie Parker is The Elements' energetic and charismatic singer. Often likened to Janis Joplin or Gwen Staffani she is fiery, intelligent and never without an opinion. This 25 year-old singer-violinist-drummer propels the band forward with her potent voice, well honed melodies and boundless on-stage energy. She also writes and arranges most of the Elements music.
She's a lot better to look at than the rest of the band and is very partial to Staropramen lager.
Our most recent Element, Holly Cassar brings a classical keyboard feel, kind of Muse-ish and takes us in a really different direction. Holly is vibrant, inexhaustible and as mad as a bag of badgers.
Versatile and always positive, Martin 'Chatterbox' Pointon talks, drinks and drums a lot. Thankfully he can't do all three at the same time so Martin has gone down in history as the only person ever that people prefer when he's drumming, although he likes to believe it's his prodigious skill that makes the audience so happy.
His other talents include an obtuse sense of humour and the ability to utterly baffle Alex with his random musings.
Only 16 years old Alex 'The Kid' Challans is the little 'un of the band but he's certainly no less talented for it. His skill, dexterity and maturity at the fretboard belie his tender years, as does his love of blues music.
So far Alex has impressed the band beyond measure, although he hasn't referred to any of the other members as 'mum' or 'dad' yet, but there's still time.
Alan 'Laney' Lane is actually an acoustic guitarist who's been roped into playing bass where he does a sterling job without protest. Although if he did protest it wouldn't matter because he's a martial arts instructor so no-one would argue back.

To conclude. Katie should be heard and seen, her live performances brim with energy and vitality. The music is commercial but unique. The Elements are a mixed bunch, granted.. but this all adds to the flavour. They are professional, ambitious, and ready.
