Bio

24-year old Katie Spotz, from Mentor, Ohio, describes herself as having been the “benchwarmer” throughout her life. However, one day Katie made a discovery: you don’t have to be extraordinary to achieve incredible things. And she set about achieving them, one by one.

Her list of accomplishments is long, including a half-ironman triathlon, an ultramarathon in Australia, cycling across the United States, a 325-mile river swim, and running across deserts. Her most remarkable feat a solo row across the Atlantic Ocean lasting 70 days, set a world record for the youngest-ever solo ocean rower, and is just one of many records to her name.

In her talks, Katie continues to raise awareness about the plight of the billions around the world suffering from a lack of safe drinking water, while reminding audiences that extraordinary achievements are within everyone’s grasp. Katie has delivered her message to audiences around the world, including the United Nations for their Annual Youth Assembly, and continues to speak to organizations about the inherent power of one individual’s will to make change happen, despite long odds or the apathy of others. Katie is currently planning her next adventure.
