"Same sky, but we don't all have the same horizon." That's the story for San Diego based, KAVENA; taken from the Hawaiian language, KAVENA (kah WEH nah) means "the light", or "the glow". Ranging from musical genres such as Rock, Punk, Metal and Funk, KAVENA has found a way to mix a unique veriaty of music into a fusion of what is becoming Southern California's new wildfire.
With their realease of their self titled CD in 2006, KAVENA has been performing vigorously to fund their 2nd album due to release in 2009. From San Jose to Hollywood, KAVENA has been all around the California Coast. With 15 new tracks available KAVENA has a wide veriaty of music for any occasion; wich is evident in their performance at Discovery Elementary School in San Marcos, California.
KAVENA was formed in August of 2005 when NorCal (Monterey) transplant Miklo introduced Andy Pulido (Los Angeles, Bass) to Singer Jason Nichols and Drummer Douglas Hubbard. Nothing but music as their comon ground, KAVENA rented nemurous rehearsal studios around San Diego tightening their chops and began booking their first shows in 2006.
Now over 200 shows under their belt, KAVENA took the next step and formed the KAVENA BAND PARTNERSHIP (est. Nov 2008). Taking matters into their own hands, KAVENA wants to spread awareness to the other bands not to buy into third party propaganda and have total control of your music.
KAVENA's plans for 2009 include a new cd release, Californian Coast Tour and numerous special event such as local fairs and events. If interested in booking KAVENA please contact management@kavena.com
