Bio

Rev. Dr. Kay Morris is a native of Jamaica; she was born in the Parish of Westmoreland and grew up in Montego Bay. She was raised by two Pentecostal Minister Parents and was exposed to the two most important influences that have guided her life, spiritual faith and the message of music. It would come as little surprise that Kay began her singing career at the tender age of four! Kay has worked tremendously hard in order to explore and celebrate her musical and spiritual roots, which she has fully embraced from Canada, Africa, and Jamaica.

In January 2017 Kay Morris got her big break in the gospel music industry when she signed a recording contract with Groove Records in Atlanta, Georgia; her new album "Hallelujah Train" will be released world wide by the Label on May 26th, 2017. Kay Morris is the first Jamaican/Caribbean Gospel Artist to take reggae gospel music main stream. She is a multi-faceted persona, functioning in many capacities such as: an Ordained Minister and an Assistant Pastor at Light and Life Ministries, Benevolent Queen (of the Royal House of Berekuso, Ghana W. Africa, she was enstooled in September 2006 after brokering $1.5 million in anti-retroviral meds for people living with HIV/AIDs in Sub-Saharan Africa); she is an International Evangelist, an accomplished singer/song writer, Reggae Gospel Music Hall of Famer (inducted on November 28, 2010, in New York, NY). She is also a fashion designer, Mentor, Motivational Speaker, and a Global Humanitarian. Her journey to becoming a humanitarian started through her music which preceded her in Africa. Kay Morris was selected as One of Canada's 100 Black Women to Watch in June 2015.

This versatile multi-award winning internationally acclaimed reggae Gospel artiste known as Canada's First Lady of Gospel and Queen of Reggae Gospel, is also the President of the Kay Morris Foundation (KMF) in Canada, and Ghana respectively. She is the International Liaison for the Atlanta based Prayze Factor People's Choice Awards, representing independent gospel artists from The Caribbean, Africa, Europe, North America, and other parts of the world.

The Electrifying & Anointed Kay Morris takes over the stage and captivates her audiences, demonstrating her versatility & offering a fresh perspective in a variety of musical styles singing in many festivals, concerts, churches, forums, and other world class venues/events. Kay Morris’ music has allowed her to cross religious, cultural, and racial barriers around the world. She sings with passion and captivates her audience. She has been featured in several magazines/books (including the Stanford "Who is Who"). Her music has been featured in several TV sit-coms; as well as, she has sang on the soundtrack for the short film "Sleeping Dogs Lie" and has also done numerous TV interviews on various networks including BET, Impact Network, Planet Africa TV Network, appeared and performed on Dr. Bobby Jones Classics in Nashville, TN; A Stellar Exclusive VIP Industry Mixer in Las Vegas, The Prayze Factor Dove Awards Prayer Breakfast and many more platforms. Spanning outward from Kay's singing, like that of the growing branch from a thriving tree, is her advocacy work as a "humanitarian". She is a World Changer and blazing trail being the Voice of the Voiceless advocating for orphans, people living with HIV/AIDS, maternal health issues, and Malaria prevention in Africa, the Caribbean, South America and other Third World Countries.
