From BET to MTV, from US to UK, Kay M is showing face. This unsigned talent from Rahway, New Jersey, made his mark official in April 2009 after becoming the 1st ever Grand Champion of BET's "106 & Park's Freestyle Friday", winning over 300k worth of production from some of the biggest names in Hip Hop today.
Soon after the competition, he booked a flight to London, England, where he toured for several weeks to showcase his talent to a wider audience. Whilst in the UK he took both the underground and mainstream by storm featuring on DieselUMusic, Rinse.fm, Genesis Radio, Sensei.fm, MTV Base, BBC Asian Networks Mic Check, Choice Fm with DJ279 and BBC 1xtra with Tim Westwood.
When not in the studio, performing or doing the general day-to-day an artist must do, Kay M takes time out to give back to the community, in London he spends time at youth program RAW where he helps to run music workshops for the youth to share his own experiences and mentor younger artists.
Already with a growing portfolio including feature articles in New Jersey's Home Tribune, HipHopDx.com, and HipHopGame.com and interviews on Power 105.1, BET's "The Deal" and BET.com, Kay M has been given the trampoline to jump straight into this music industry.
In the lead up to his debut album "The Eviction Notice", Kay M will be releasing "The Down Payment" an insight of what to expect from this rising star, using the production he won from BET including music from the likes of David Banner, Bangaldesh, Ron Browz and two time Grammy Award winner Deezle.
While the anticipation grows, Kay M will continue to make appearances and performances around the USA and overseas. Scheduled to perform on BET's 106 & Park, on Aug 28th the television show will be showcasing his new music with a performance live on air.
