Bio
Lives in Osaka.
Since early age, she got close to various musical instruments including piano and trombone. At age 17, she started teaching herself the acoustic guitar.
In 1999, moved to Kyoto, where she started writing songs.
In the same year, she began to play gigs mainly in Kansai area.
While Kansai underground music scene was grabbing attentions, she was fascinated to absorb genre-crossed various kinds of music like Rock, Folk, Psychedelic, Electronic and Noise.
In 2004, as a side project, she started making her own music at home by using an analogue MTR recorder.
Under the artist name “Clever Cherry”, she produced an album “Mori no Ongaku-kai (Concert of the Forest)”.
“Innocent and spiritous music for adult who never forget dreaming” is her motto.
By only using school instruments, she improvises melodies accompanied by background sounds she creates. As a result, her unique and cinematic piece received a lot of enthusiastic response.
After several brakes, she began to play again and rediscovered the original play style; singing to her own accompaniment.
Now, she seeks soothing yet nostalgic sound by performing with only three elements; guitar, whistling and vocal.
