Bio

The cornerstone emcee to Academy Entertainment, Kayyce Closed, is a solid veteran in the underground scene and has the credentials to back up every vicious punchline that comes out of his mouth. This Detroit City native appeared on the first album to come out of Detroit to use the 313 area code (K-Stone aka Dogmatic) and was a consistent emcee at Maurice Malone's famed Hip Hop Shop. Kayyce graced the stage of the Hip Hop Shop at the same time as emcees such as Eminem, Proof ( RIP ), Elzhi, T3, Jay Dee ( RIP ) and many other artists. He did this under the alias K.C.E, which was eventually extended to Kayyce Closed.

"The name Kayyce Closed came from me going to rap battles and deciding that if I can win all the battles I am in, I'm Ill, Case Closed!" says Kayyce. Eventually, the Detroit native relocated to Windsor Ontario, where he found himself battling emcees at Windsor's notorious hip hop spot, Club Extreme, where he was a consecutive champion for 9 straight months. Still untouched locally through battle competitions, Kayyce Closed entered the Pass Tha Mic Battle Championships, and won it 3 times over remaining undefeated.

Over time, the name Kayyce Closed became as solid locally as the streets you walk, winning every battle he ever entered in Windsor. Don't get it confused though, because Kayyce Closed is not just a battle emcee. Kayyce has appeared on many album projects, mix-tapes and collaborations, as well as performed live with some of hip hop's greatest such as Scarface, Royce Da 5'9", Obie Trice, The Luniz, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Choclair, Kardinal Offishall, and many others. His lyrical style has gotten him many publication spots, from magazines to the news paper, as he continues to move through the game.

In 2010, Kayyce plans on releasing his greatly anticipated, first ever solo mixCD, "This Is What I Do." Kayyce is looked up to by many artists in the local scene and has been awarded "Best Lyricist" in the Windsor Hip Hop awards on numerous occasions. Kayyce and his group, Academy, have been doing big things in the local underground scene for several years and plan on keeping up the tradition. If you ask anyone involved in the local hip hop scene, they will all tell you the same thing, that he is one of the most skilled emcees to ever walk this planet.
