Right Guy Is Me

Written By: C Marchetti/K Marchetti

The Right Guy is Me
© June 2007 CMarchetti/KMarchetti

That ol' jukebox started playing
and not a moment too soon
Cause it broke the silence
As you walked into the room
You came in with some friends
And danced up to the bar
As I watched you from my table
I can tell you are

looking for a guy
I can see it in your eyes
Lipstick smile on your face
as you move around the place
searching this ol' room
with your big ol' baby blues
why can't you see that
the right guy is me

I'd like to buy you a drink
maybe make it two
there's a empty seat right here
I saved it just for you
I don't have the nerve
to say whats in my heart
as I watch you from my table
I can tell you are

looking for a guy
I can see it in your eyes
Lipstick smile on your face
as you move around the place
searching this ol' room
with your big ol' baby blues
why can't you see that
the right guy is me

Someday /I'll say
what I've been thinkin
but tonight the way I feel
I think I'll just keep drinkin

but you're looking for a guy
I can see it in your eyes
Lipstick smile on your face
as you move around the place
searching this ol' room
with your big ol' baby blues
why can't you see that
the right guy is me

One Beat At A Time

Written By: C Marchetti/ K Marchetti

One Beat AT A Time
(C Marchetti/K Marchetti - 04-02-07)

VERSE 1

well you called again tonight
I could tell something wasn’t right
you asked if we could get together
I guess he left you for another

VERSE 2

could I meet you at the coffee shop
and hold you hand until your crying stops
we’ve been through this a time or two
maybe it’s time to try something new

CHORUS

Watching you over the years
helping to dry your tears
hoping that you would see
I can fix your heart if you let me
one beat at a time

VERSE 3

I know with half a chance
we can have some sweet romance
all the years that we’ve been friends
I wondered when your running would end

CHORUS

BRIDGE

You always counted on me
I think it was meant to be
I always hoped to call you mine
and baby now’s the time

CHORUS

Last Seen Leaving Me

Last Seen Leaving Me

CMarchetti/KMarchetti

VERSE

I had a meeting at work and got home kinda late
Picked up a soggy paper laying by the front yard gate
checked my messages and the list of things to do
caught myself thinking about you

VERSE

poured a glass of your favorite red italian wine
I could hear my wrist watch tickin it was gettin' close to nine
Made a call across town and ordered take-out for two
should've seen what you were going through

CHORUS

they're saying everyone around us could tell
they all saw that things were not going well
they saw the changes in you that I couldn't see
now they're saying you were last seen leaving me

VERSE

I'm gonna get up tomorrow and get through the rest of this week
maybe even fix that ol front door that squeaks
I'm thinking maybe I might try something new
and I'll stop thinking about you

CHORUS

they're saying everyone around us could tell
they all saw that things were not going well
they saw the changes in you that I couldn't see
now they're saying you were last seen leaving me

BRIDGE

ran into some of our old friends the other day
no one seemed to know exactly what to say--but

CHORUS

they're saying everyone around us could tell
they all saw that things were not going well
they saw the changes in you that I couldn't see
now they're saying you were last seen leaving me

Little White Lies

Written By: C Marchetti/K Marchetti

those little white lies
© May 2007 CMarchetti/KMarchetti

he put on a clean white shirt
said he had to run back to work
That big deal's coming due
not to worry there's nothing wrong
said he wouldn't be gone too long
I should know what he's going through

little white lies
he tells them so I'll be ok
little white lies
A new alibi everyday
Little white lies
I don't believe a word he says
when he looks me in the eyes - and tells me those little white lies

he flew to Boston for the day
called to tell me he had to stay
he said things didn't go as planned
he's sorry that he missed his flight
he said he can't get home tonight
he said he knew I'd understand

little white lies
he tells them so I'll be ok
little white lies
A new alibi everyday
Little white lies
I don't believe a word he says
when he looks me in the eyes - and tells me those little white lies

But he don't know that when he's gone
It's been tit for tat
Take that
There's a party going on

little white lies
he tells them so I'll be ok
little white lies
A new alibis everyday
Little White lies
I don't believe a word he says
when he looks me in the eyes - and tells me those little white lies

Another One of Those Days

Another One of Those Days

Verse 1

The weatherman - on channel three
Says it’s gonna rain and I have to agree
Cause my shoulders aching pretty bad today.

I guess the plowing might have to wait
much more of this and the crops will be late
finish this coffee and be on my way

pretend like it’s not gonna be another one of those days

Chorus

Another one of those days
When nothing goes right
That ol’ sun ain’t shining quite as bright
Everybody has one every now and then

Another one of those days
When we're looking for a sign
That this ol' worlds gonna be alright
there’s no need to start the day all over again

I’m gonna grab a shovel and just dig in
its another one of those days

Verse 2

Passed a woman on the side the road
Shakin' her head - cause her car won't go
One kid cryin' - another on the way

Her husband pulled up and popped the hood
Wiggled a wire like she knew he would
he turned to her and said every thing's OK
it looks like your having another one of those days

Chorus

Another one of those days
When nothing goes right
That ol’ sun ain’t shining quite as bright
Everybody has one every now and then

Another one of those days
When we're looking for a sign
That this ol' worlds gonna be alright
there’s no need to start the day all over again

I’m gonna grab a shovel and just dig in
its Another one of those days

Bridge

And the waitress looks like she's had enough
Earning money shouldn't be so rough
She smiles when her son walks thru the door
Now I know what she’s been working for

And the man who just worked two shifts
Dead tired but he would never miss
His little boy up at bat
In his tee ball uniform

Chorus

Another one of those days
When nothing goes right
That ol’ sun ain’t shining quite as bright
Everybody has one every now and then

Another one of those days
When we're looking for a sign
That this ol' worlds gonna be alright
there’s no need to start the day all over again

well I’m gonna grab a shovel and just dig in
its Another one of those days

another one of those days ....

Devil In Me

Written By: Charlene Marchetti/Keith Marchetti

©Sep 2007 Charlene Marchetti/Keith “Kip” Marchetti

I'm just a simple country girl
a whole life filled with seed and hay
looking out at the nearest road
the one he took to make his way
was the very same road that we tore up
in our days of raising Cain

he was a highschool football star
I guess I let him take me a little too far
First love came and went
He joined the army and away he ran
I shoulda saw it coming but I never really did
He said he’d be back and I’ve been waiting ever since

Cause He can make my heart beat double time
and light me up til I'm hotter than hades
I been waiting on that boy to come home
to remind him of the good ol' days
when he was adam to my eve
and he puts the devil in me

I haven't heard from him in a while
but his Mama said he's doin' well
we made quite a name for ourselves
and the folks 'round town have stories to tell
I guess 3 am is a little too late
to be ringing those old church bells

but He can make my heart beat double time
and light me up til I'm hotter than hades
I been waiting on that boy to come home
to remind him of the good ol' days
when he was adam to my eve
and he puts the devil in me

when he rode up the dusty drive--in that uniform of his
I knew at that moment--I'd been waitin my whole life for this

Cause He can make my heart beat double time
and light me up til I'm hotter than hades
I've been waiting on that boy to come home
to remind him of the good ol' days
when he was adam to my eve
and he puts the devil in me

He can make my heart beat double time
and light me up til I'm hotter than hades
I've been waiting on that boy to come home
to remind him of the good ol' days
when he was adam to my eve
and he puts the devil in me

he put the devil in me

he put the devil in me

Milestones & Meltdowns

Written By: C Marchetti/ K Marchetti

MILESTONES & MELTDOWNS

VERSE 1

So I sold the big house today
Gave all my suits away
Hopefully someone can use'em
To stay warm at night it's almost amusing

VERSE 2

I'm headin' on down the road
I don't need the highs and the lows
tired of the up down and all around
just hoping for some middle ground

CHORUS

IT'S GOODBYE TO MILESTONES AND MELTDOWNS
DEADLINES AND THE ALL AROUND HASSLE
OF A 9 TO 5 RAT RACE
I'M HEADING OUT TO FIND MY PLACE
My daddy used to say ain't it good to be alive
Son follow your heart keep an open mind
now I’m trying I’m trying to find
the way to leave milestones and meltdowns behind

VERSE 3

I've been working all these years
and they sure have disappeared
it's time to move on
before my last chance is gone

CHORUS

IT'S GOODBYE TO MILESTONES AND MELTDOWNS
DEADLINES AND THE ALL AROUND HASSLE
OF A 9 TO 5 RAT RACE
I'M HEADING OUT TO FIND MY PLACE
My daddy used to say ain't it good to be alive
Son follow your heart keep an open mind
now I’m trying I’m trying to find
the way to leave milestones and meltdowns behind

bridge

I'm gonna follow that road
where ever it goes
I’m gonna open my mind cause I know
There’s a better way to get thru the day
Oh out there - Yeah out there

CHORUS

IT'S GOODBYE TO MILESTONES AND MELTDOWNS
DEADLINES AND THE ALL AROUND HASSLE
OF A 9 TO 5 RAT RACE
I'M HEADING OUT TO FIND MY PLACE
My daddy used to say ain't it good to be alive
Son follow your heart keep an open mind
now I’m trying I’m trying to find
the way to leave milestones and meltdowns behind

Grandpa's Rocking Chair

Written By: C Marchetti/ K Marchetti

Grandpa’s Rocking Chair

verse 1
It was over twenty years ago
we had a tree outback -a big old oak
a storm came thru it didn't have a prayer
grandpa took a saw to that ol tree
made one for him and one for me
my rocking horse--his rocking chair

verse 2
Grandpa and I rocked side by side
telling stories and a few fishing lies
until i grew way too big for that horse
the years have gone by way too fast
grandpa took sick and had his last
And I still miss him that’s for sure

chorus
I'm gonna sit right here on this front porch
put my feet up on that ol horse
holding on to all my memories
don't want to be anywhere but here
sitting in grandpa’s rocking chair

verse 3
I met you and we fell in love
Could almost see Grandpa’s nod from above
Could hear him say "not to let you get away"
we'll raise our fam'ly to be strong
to weather anything that comes along
love, work and play to the end of our days

Chorus
I’m gonna sit right here on this front porch
we'll soon be needing that ol horse
start working on a brand new set of memories
don't want to be anywhere but here
sitting in grandpa’s rocking chair

Bridge
now we’ve got three kids
and not enough space
we could make a little room
but somethings you never throw away

chorus
we’re gonna sit right here on this front porch
put our feet up on that ol horse
holding on to all of these memories
don't want to be anywhere but here
sitting in grandpa’s rocking chair
