" I don't make fans/I make believers..." - Kean Wolcott

Kean Wolcott is one of the freshest faces in the burgeoning Chicago rap scene and a breath of fresh air musically. He chooses both style and substance, combining his melodic and lyrical delivery with a flair and swagger all his own. A 5 year veteran of Chicago's underground scene, the SouthWest side of Chicago native has received internet airplay on stations such as StreetVibesMixRadio.com, DetriotRiotRadio.com, and locally on stations such as WGCI 107.5. Now he stands out as an artist on the verge who seeks to bring rap back to it's basics in a newer and more exciting form. "I represent almost every walk of life in the Midwest, because I have experienced it 1st hand in some form or another", says Kean.

Once reluctant to make hip-hop his career, the Englewood native and college graduate earned a Liberal Arts degree from Lincoln College's Normal Campus with aspirations to be a writer. But when he released his Free John John Mixtape (which was named in honor of a childhood friend who received an unjustified jail stint) in 2005 under the moniker Kean G, he saw the affect his music had on people around him. "A local comedian who had been on BET's ComicView hosted a show I performed in at Illinois State (University), and he bought a copy from me as soon as I got off stage! I even got free perks all around town", laughs the 6'2 emcee. He returned to Chicago with determination to make his name locally then branch out to other regions, linking back up with Task Force, a rap crew of his high school classmates that had made a name for themselves on the scene. This led to his appearances on multiple mixtapes, solo or otherwise, and to the song "Election Day", which was a tribute to President Barack Obama's historic run for the White House, and 5,000 plus views on Youtube for the song's video. One failed indie label stint later, Kean is independent once again and poised for a breakout year. He also films videos for Swagg Official Entertainment as a side hustle and is on tap to direct and film several documentaries and an independent movie, which he is also set 2 star in. " I am documenting our hip-hop movement so that years down the line people can look back on Midwest rap's moment in time and see it grow from the streets 2 the suites". Preach young man!
