Keef Courage

Since hip hop has made its way into popular American culture, many acts have come and gone. Some hip hop acts withstand the constant changing music scene using fresh instrumentals and staying true to what they know. Since 2001 Keef Courage is one of these groups. Hailing from Midland, Michigan, where there is not much of a music scene to speak of , Jay Freer,Gabe Robbins and Jess Williams who combined there musical and production experience to make up the present day Keef Courage. Whether being in the studio recording or just hanging out and freestyling, they never caved into what popular American culture says hip hop should be. With the stage chemistry of 2 emcee’s and 1 DJ, Keef Courage makes for an entertaining performance. While mostly catering to the true hip hop fans and gaining new ones everyday, they still have what it takes to write personal songs that everyone can relate to. With the Sept 11th, 2008 release of their second full length album “The Other Side of the Fence,” Keef Courage is still showing that the underground hip hop scene will never die.
