""Keith McCoy is the real deal." - Jerry Max Lane"

Keith McCoy is the real deal. I have enjoyed not only sharing a great stage with him, but also writing a great song with him. Keith is a great singer, not to mention a great songwriter as well. I've enjoyed the best of both worlds with him - a true Texas Traditional Country Singer - and would welcome him on my stage or home any day. They don't come any better. If it's music or friendship, he's just great. Good luck, my friend. - Jerry Max Lane

"Keith McCoy: "FAMILY TRADITION" - Dusty Carroll, Musician"

I'm sure you've heard that old song "FAMILY TRADITION?" Well, that guy that wrote that's got nothing on my friend Keith McCoy. I remember when I was just starting out in the music field way back in the 50's, one of my favorite bands was the "MITCHELL FAMILY BAND." I was fascinated that a whole family could be musically inclined. I would set in as often as I could. Margaret was about my age and a particular favorite of mine. She played guitar and fiddle. Later on I played in several bands with a fellow called Herman McCoy. Herman was as close to a perfectionist as I ever knew. He was an excellent Guitar man. I guess it was only fate that these two would get together. Herman married Margaret and believe it or not, they carried on the music tradition.
This brings us to my friend, ol' Keith. The son of Herman and Margaret firmly believes in that tradition. He and some of his own sons have formed as good a group of musicians as you could want. Keith is a first class singer and musician and it is an honor to offer this endorsement to my friend, Keith McCoy. - Dusty Carroll, Musician

"Keith McCoy IS the REAL McCoy! - Jane Vandiver, Star Singers Studio"

You can't sing like that unless you've lived it. He does things that can't be taught; the inflections in his voice, the dips, slides, from the gut, pain felt, not mention the smooth tones, is original and honest. He puts the roots back in country music. Thanks, Keith, for the truth in your artistry! - Jane Vandiver, Star Singers Studio

"Keith McCoy, "Over the Top." - Paul Minter, ABC/Dunhill recording artist"

“Watching Keith McCoy perform makes me remember how much I love “live music.” Keith’s stage presence, his extreme professionalism and his enormous talent as a singer/songwriter bass player tells the story in itself. Not to mention that he’s one of the hardest working musicians I’ve seen in a very long time. He’s a force (a real force) and I’m very proud to endorse him as a great country artist.”
- Paul Minter, ABC/Dunhill Records, Navasota 1972, produced by Gary Katz; bassist for Little Bit of Te

"Keith is a wonderful singer and musician, backs Willie Nelson, among a lot of other good singers and musicians. - C.P. "Buck" Sloan"

I got out of the war in late 1945 and came to Houston. I played music and use to follow a family of girls called "The Mitchell Family." One of these girls turned out to be Keith's mother, Margaret. She married my real good friend, Herman McCoy. Herman played with George Jones and Larry Butler back in his younger days. Herman and I use to play music together; he was one of my best picking friends. I loved to play music with him.

I was good friends with Mr. & Mrs. Mitchell and all the girls. Herman and Margaret had Keith, Herman, Terry, Mike, Shelia, Diana and Debbie. All of the boys turned out to be as good of musicians as you could find. I always loved to play with them.

Keith stuck with his mother and dad real close, right up to the end. That shows you what he is a good man for doing that.

Keith is helping me get a Jamboree off the ground.

Keith went on to have a great recording studio and some of the best musicians have come through there. Keith is a wonderful singer and musician, backs Willie Nelson, among a lot of other good singers and musicians.

I have Keith's latest CD. He wrote all the songs on it and there is not one bad song. I loved every song.

I could go on and on about Keith and his brothers, but I don't have enough room.

Their Other Dad,
Buck Sloan - Western Swing Artist, C.P. "Buck" Sloan
