In this fast moving world of instant fixes, twitter trending and constant change it is extremely rare to find an artist who allows his music the time to breath, the time to develop and grow. It's even rarer to find an artist who takes eight year (yes years) crafting an album. In the music industry that's four times longer than some careers!

But then Keith Moss is no ordinary artist. He suffers from Patulous Eustachian Tube, a rare, debilitating and seemingly incurable disorder that causes great distress to hear noises generated from inside his body. A particularly distressing disorder for a singer/songwriter.

It's often said that great art comes from pain and that's certainly true for Keith. His new album, What Eludes You Moves You is a work of rare beauty, a timeless classic. It's an album of pain and joy that positively drips with passion and emotion, an album that sounds like Syd Barrett without the drug induced psychosis.

Keith Moss, a new edition to the Reekus Record roster, is no stranger to the music scene having played with and supported several bands, including Rodrigo y Gabriela. His latest single release, The War Outside Our Door, is a breath of fresh air in more ways than one. Not only is it an entirely different sound from what we have been accustomed to hearing from our male solo artists, it remains alternative, without adopting the rock and roll attitude of: “Choas and booze prevail”.

The single is the opposite of what rock music generally promotes; the war referred to in the song is a nod to the anti-social behaviour and binge-drinking that has taken over our neighbourhoods. The deceptively political number sends out a positive message without depreciating the quality and catchy nature of the song. There is no epic build up to unfitting an solo, no egotistical vocal warbling; it is a simple song with a wonderful tune, uncomplicated musicianship and a common cause for concern. Moss’ lyrics and vocals are incredible on this track; simply an added bonus to the social commentary. Well worth a listen. Not to be confused with Kate Moss, this mesmerizing newcomer is receiving some serious critical acclaim across the pond. According to his Myspace page, some people say his music sounds like "Syd Barrett without the drug induced psychosis," or "drunken Beach Boys recorded in Beck's jacks"; The Irish Times supposedly dubbed him "an unlikely melange of Nick Drake and Monty Python." This purported criticism might be true and might not be more than a clever bit of self-aggrandizing, but suffice it to say, Dublin's Keith Moss still has the power to inspire a lot of opinions with his recent release. So what is it about this young Irishman that has everyone's knickers in a knot? Well, he's a force of nature, with a penchant for wordplay and looks that rival John Mayer's pouty visage (check out shots of him performing, you'll see what we mean). It's no wonder that people are developing a fascination with Moss and his music.

Each track on What Eludes You, Moves You oozes a different emotion. Check out his video for "You Love Silent Films"; it's totally strange, yet still beautiful.

One last possibly false opinion, this one from Blank Magazine: "This is either complete genius or utter bunkum." (Well, it sounds Irish enough.) Anyhow, listen to or download Moss's LP (via Bandcamp), and see for yourself whether it falls closer to genius or bunkum. - INYOURSPEAKERS

There has been great interest in Keith Moss in recent times and 28th of September sees the release of his new single Torture in Paradise.

The single is well worth a listen, particularly if you have a fondness for Bell X1. Moss’s voice pulls you into the song, making it an enjoyable listen.

It is a lighthearted sounding song with a darker undertone found in the beautfully sung lyrics; it’s definitely one for the indie music stations. - Clare S Kane - Music Review

Dublin based musician Keith Moss is back with a new three track single ‘The War Outside Our Door’. Moss is known for his quirky social commentary and this guitar led indie pop track is no different. Think 80's American indie a la Psychedelic Furs or Pixies with some airy vocals and you’ll have where this track is. This is a definite grower, the more you listen the better it gets.
‘Burn Away Inside’ is more like what I’m actually listening to all the moment. Sparse electronic beats with guitars,keys and vocals. The vocals lie beautifully upon layers of instrumentation. Very different from the previous track but it’s a great indication of what a varied musician Moss is.
The final track ‘The Memory Store’ almost melds what we have seen from Moss in the previous two tracks. In his mixing laboratory, he has again used electronic magic alongside guitars but what separates this tune is the clearness of Moss’ vocals. This is what early nineties indie in 2012 sounds like. Best track on this single for me and leaves itself open for some awesome remixes.
