Kellie Lee

Born and raised in a small town in north Texas, singer-songwriter Kellie Lee discovered music as an outlet at an early age. As a teenager, her older brother gave her a guitar and a chance to discover her gift for songwriting. Throughout her life, Lee has faced triumphs along with profound challenges. It is her belief that songwriting and performing have carried her through. In 2006, Kellie and her passion for music began to outgrow Wichita Falls, TX and she made the bold decision to move to California.

Lee recorded an EP in 2007 and was discovered on MySpace by an independent record label who signed her in 2008. She released her first album and toured up and down the West Coast performing at legendary music venues such as Whiskey A Go Go, The House of Blues-Sunset Strip, The Hotel Café and the Majestic Theater in Ventura, CA. Lee got the opportunity to see parts of the country she never imagined growing up in Texas, and meet people that influenced her perspective. Most of all, she got to know herself. In her own words, she was, "born and raised in Texas, but grew up in California".

Kellie has always felt that her musical self is more exposed than her personal self. Taking advantage of her talent, she has used music as a tool for personal discovery and expression. Lee’s 2014 album, "Between the Ocean and this Open Road" chronicles that discovery through the narrative of a gut-wrenching decision to once again, leave the life she loves and go back home to Texas in search of truth. The album captivates and almost haunts listeners with her soulful voice and bravely honest lyrics. Listeners will find themselves in solidarity with someone on the universally human road of finding truth. As an artist and a person, Lee never settles for product. Relentless in her efforts, she is, at her core, a miner of truth.
