Kell Stoner releases debut EP through Vitamin Records in May

Kell Stoner grew up in a motorbike mad family and so it was only natural that she raced bikes too – earning her one and only title, QLD Motorcross champion in the under 9s! While her little brother Casey Stoner has ridden onto win a world championship and international recognition, Kell went onto become interested in a slower & more melodic pursuit – music. After carefully honing her songwriting craft over the years, Kell is now releasing her debut recording, which will be available in stores across Australia from mid-May 2008, through Vitamin Records.

Kell’s EP is produced and recorded by country and roots stalwarts Bill Chambers & Jeff MCormack and brings together Kell’s love of blues, alt. country and soul laden lyrics and melodies… polished, but still raw enough to have feeling and guts - it's got heart! To celebrate the launch of her long awaited recording debut Kell and her little band of misfits will be touring up and down the East Coast of Australia throughout May, June and July 2008.

When considering producers for her debut Kell’s first choice was Bill Chambers, she approached him at a gig and handed over her demo. Bill rang the very next morning. ‘Kell’s influenced by the world’s great singer/songwriters,’ says Bill of her music. ‘But she still sounds uniquely like herself. Very cool music indeed’.

Ranging from the sweet stripped back soothing melodies of Long Long Road and Silvergreen to the stomping blues and country soul of Make me Blue and Burning Track: Kell’s debut showcases her unique song-crafting abilities across a range of genres and feels. Kell's debut EP will be available from today across the country in record stores through Vitamin Records.

Two original songs from the debut have just featured on the nationally televised Australian of the Year Awards, and the follow up documentary, where her little bro Casey picked up young Australian of the year. Selected tracks have also been released early to several radio stations which have received them warmly and given them many a spin including; Triple j, various community radio stations and ABC radio state-wide
