Bio

Kell Taylor was raised by a musical family in a house where an instrument or a singalong was found in almost every room. As he grew he learnt new instruments, new songs, new styles, and played with more and more people.

After finishing high school he continued studying music (composition and music production), and also began to play a lot of open mic nights and bars. After Kell's studies finished he spent a year busking in Sydney, and playing all sorts of venues. During this time he met drummer Evan Yako. They began playing and recording together and a year later had produced Kell's first EP "Sleeping on Trains (2010)".

The EP began to make it's away around the country via touring, community radio stations, and the occasional play on national radio station triple j. Kell was also invited to play a number of music festivals around Australia including the National Folk Festival in 2011 (where he received a commendation award by Folk Alliance Australia for outstanding folk performer of the year under 25).

Kell then had a break from touring to write new material, form a new band called Hey! Badger, and compose music for several short films.

2012 has so far been a busy year. With a new EP completed and set for release in August, Kell and his new line up are out and about playing as much as they can before the release of the next EP.
