Oooh, the frost is coming out, yeah, it’s spring at last,
Boy, the last six months seemed to really go fast,
It seems like just yesterday was September, burning leaves in the fall.
I see there’ve been a few changes since winter began,
The culverts are filled in from the plows salt and sand,
Now the neighbors need a hand, so I’ll head out, and give it my all.
Oh, I’m at the neighbor’s farm just a diggin’ out ditches,
In my t-shirt and my favorite pair of britches,
Oo oo, with the wind in my face, and the sun on my back,
We’ll get it taken care of, just a couple minor glitches,
We don’t need a whole lot a riches,
There ain’t nothing that a little old fashioned elbow grease can’t fix,
Aww, when you live in the stix!
Ooh, the water’s backup up in my cousin’s front lawn,
The list of things to do, just goes on and on,
It’s time to plant the fields, 1st fix the plow, and make a bigger fence for the cows.
Oh, but 1st things 1st, I’ve got shovlin’ to do,
The crops won’t grow if the water won’t pass through,
The rest’le have to wait, my favorite neighbors need me right now.
Okay, they’re my only neighbors . . .
So, I’m at the neighbor’s farm just a diggin’ out ditches,
In my t-shirt and my favorite pair of britches,
Oo oo, with the wind in my face, and the sun on my back,
We’ll get it taken care of, just a couple minor glitches,
We don’t need a whole lot a riches,
There ain’t nothing that a little old fashioned elbow grease can’t fix,
Aww, when you live in the stix!
Oh, life’s too short not to pause and smell the pies,
Sometimes it takes a little shit, to open your eyes,
To the fact that being neighborly’s the way the Good Lord made us to be . . .
Yeeeaaaahhh,
At the neighbor’s farm just a diggin’ out ditches,
In my t-shirt and my favorite pair of britches,
Oo oo, with the wind in my face, and the sun on my back,
We’ll get it taken care of, just a couple minor glitches,
We don’t need a whole lot a riches,
There ain’t nothing that a little old fashioned elbow grease can’t fix,
Aww, when you live in the stix!
