Kelly Mullen

BandCountry

My lyrics are drawn from many of my personal experiences and the experiences of my friends and family. My music, however, is a combination of old country along with todays more upbeat rhythms.

Biography

I am a happily married, 36 year old mother, who decided to put work on hold to raise a family. I am from the suburbs of pittsburgh and have always loved writing and singing music. A few years ago, I met a girl who sings in a local band and teaches music at Carnegie Mellon. She was impressed with some lyrics I had written, so I decided to pursue a songwriting career. Unfortunately, I do not know how to play any musical instuments, so I cannot put the demo's together myself. I am currently teaching myself guitar and am now a member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI). As a songwriter, I love the old time country music from Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, and The Judds, but I also enjoy the more recent music of Martina McBride, Sara Evans, Toby Keith, George Strait, and Brooks and Dunn.

"What you still see"

Could hardly believe when I opened my eyes

it's fifteen years today

as I lay here thinkin how old I feel

I catch you starin my way

oh honey, how can it be

you're still amazed when you look at me

(chorus)

and I can't believe what you still see

blond curls with eyes so blue

a young girl with a crush on you

makes me blush the way you still want me

what you still see

Pullin me close wrap your arms around me

and kiss me every now and then

tell me how beautiful you think I am

you'd marry me all over again

Oh honey, how can you see

all I am and all I used to be

(bridge)

I Thank god each day your by my side

cause forever I'll stay young, through your eyes.

and I can't believe, what you still see

my body back in our younger day

my face unchanged each and every way

time can never take my youth from me

what you still see

"See you in my dreams"

Smelled your cologne in the air today

didn't move could of stood there all day

just to feel you close

I'm gettin tired as this day drags on

still can't believe your really gone

oh life's not fair

(chorus)

and all I want is to sleep all day

just close my eyes, so I can see your face

share my day and talk all night

just layin in your arms til the morning light

I'll see you in my dreams

I'm trying hard to be strong enough

you know the kids, they've had it so rough

without you here

and when they cry in the middle of the night

I pull them close, and I hold on tight

it'll be alright

(chorus)

just close your eyes, you'll see daddy's face

Oh take his hand in a higher place

share your day and talk all night

oh layin in his arms til the mornin light

he'll see you, in your dreams

yes, he'll see you in your dreams

we'll see you in our dreams

Country Rock and Roll

Country Rock and Roll

Sittin' in the crowd with the lights turned down way low

lookin' all around me just waitin' for the show

anticipations runnin' wild, the fans are on their feet

see the band, raise our hands,

and we're standin on our seats

(Chorus)

That country twang, that sound so sweet

Gets in your head, gotta stomp your feet

I feel it deep, down in my soul

We want it loud, here in the crowd

gotta hear that country rock and roll

Listen to the people never miss a single word

singin' with the music everywhere it can be heard

chills run up and down my spine the band faces the crowd

kick up their feet, turn up the beat

and everyone is going wild

(repeat chorus)

That country twang, that sound so sweet

Gets in your head, gotta stomp your feet

I feel it deep, down in my soul

We want it loud, here in the crowd

gotta hear that country rock and roll

(bridge)

look out now they're all

dancin in the aisles

and I think they've lost control oh oh ol

(repeat chorus)

That country twang, that sound so sweet

Gets in your head, gotta stomp your feet

I feel it deep, down in my soul

We want it loud, here in the crowd

gotta hear that country rock and roll
