Bio

Kelsey Fry is a singer/songwriter who has extensive experience in performing, recording and acting. Her music can be described as “unique and worldly,” and is reminiscent of Sarah McLachlan and Amanda Marshall. Her powerful and emotional voice communicates heartfelt messages of hope and feeling. She has been seen in Edmonton at numerous events, including the annual Heart of the City Festival, and the Edmonton Folk Music Festival in 2003.

For the last four years, Kelsey has been working with her band, and they have just released their first album as a group called "Sweet Is the Sound".  The band consists of four other musicians: Don Burbridge, Gord Oaks, Browne Anderson, and Neil Hennig. Kelsey writes music collaboratively with her other band mates, as well as on her own. Every member of the group comes from a different musical background, and flavours of folk, rock, jazz, and pop can be heard in their music.

Kelsey has been performing publicly since she was five years old. She wrote her first song at six, and recorded her first independent album for charity at eleven. Before she moved to Edmonton in 1995, she performed at numerous venues in Vancouver. She also recorded a song for Tourism B.C. composed by Michael Baker, accompanied by the London England Symphony Orchestra. In recent years she has performed at many local fundraisers and business events for as many as 3 000 people.

The above is just a small portion of what Kelsey has done. If you would like more detailed information please contact us. Thank you for taking the time to listen.
