Bio

I am the ultra femme artist. I have been told by friends that I am "stream of consciousness" personified. I approach my music as I approach my life: full disclosure and expression of every fiber of my being at all times. I am frank (to say the very least). All of my songs are love songs. I'm in love with love and every bit of my character reflects that. My mother has always called me a "torch singer." You know, the moody retro girl that spends her nights singing melancholy melodies about the lover she lost. The deeply emotional sad beauty who walks alone night after night "carrying a torch" for the lost lover that has forever scarred her. Despite my best efforts, I am more inspired to write after a loss as oppose to writing the arrogant, sexually empowered, "Dontcha wish you were as hot as me" songs. I am more vulnerable than that... and I think my vulnerability is the very essence of my artistic beauty. I think the industry is beyond over saturated with these scantily clad "high pimpstress" types who only seem concerned with emulating their male counterparts in an effort to feel empowered and unbreakable. But the truth is: We are breakable and great music comes from being broken. When you have been been broken you are forced to search the deepest parts of you -- and it is in the these deep places where you will discover all of the secrets that have been shoved away in effort to avoid appearing vulnerable. And once you resurface from those deep and dark places you emerge as a radiant flower that has recovered from a long winter nap. A flower's fragility is what makes it so precious... Beauty will never shine as radiantly as it does in the hour of its demise. It is this rise and fall that makes music meaningful. Music has always been my savior in my hour of need and I believe listeners need a vulnerable, humble, honest creature to relate to.
