Kelsey

Kelsey, is a German born queer American singer-songwriter from Pittsburgh, PA. She is currently releasing music independently and managing herself. While both of her parents were in the military, Kelsey moved often growing up. Moving frequently taught her to adapt to change from an early age and to channel her emotions into songwriting. At age 14, Kelsey was writing and performing songs about her parent’s divorce, and her independence as a teenager. One year later she began managing and performing with her acoustic duo Bridge of Spades. By the time she graduated high school she had written and released two EPs, one under a Pseudonym Chaine and one with her acoustic duo Bridge of Spades. She started the first all female acapella group at her high school which she composed for and directed. Initially, Kelsey went to Capital University in Columbus for Jazz Voice and Music Business. After a year in the music conservatory and winning Best Jazz Vocalist at the Elmhurst Jazz Festival in Chicago, Kelsey decided to study business at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Business. Kelsey attended the business school to gain knowledge in management, marketing and business strategy to advance her music career.Upon graduating Kelsey landed a director position at a local education non profit in Pittsburgh. She used her time as a director to save money, write music and make a positive impact on the public education system in her community. Kelsey is currently a full time artist and splits her time writing, performing and recording. Since releasing her first three singles, Kelsey has been featured on numerous blogs and received significant radio time on eleven different local and international stations.
