Bio

Kendra Carr
“Unexpected Judah”

If you listen to popular music, you have definitely heard Kendra Carr. This anointed voice has been seen singing backup for various artists spanning from Michael McDonald, Shirley Caesar, Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child), Donald Lawrence, Marvin Sapp to Darwin Hobbs, Dottie Peoples, Darryl Coley and Benita Washington to name a few. She has also worked with some of the industries well known producers such as Tommy Sims, Roger Ryan, Mark Kibble (Take 6), Asaph Ward, Frederick Vaughn, Kayla Parker, and Virgil Straford. Now she steps from behind the scene and prepares to release her debut solo album, all the while, she proves this is her time and season to minister to a generation through praise and worship.

In 2000, Kendra recorded an independent album entitled Yielded. After the completion of the album, Kendra and her family uprooted and moved to Nashville, TN and joined Mount Zion Church, under the leadership of Bishop Joseph W. Walker, III, after receiving a commandment from God. Being obedient to the Lord and living in a strange land, God favored her to be one of three Praise and Worship leaders of a growing 18,000 member congregation! Traveling around the United States with Bishop Walker as a Chief Psalmist allowed Kendra to gain a national audience. Since then, Kendra has been a featured soloist on three compilation CDs Praise in His Presence, Dove nominated Shout in the Spirit, and Judah Generation. Knowing that victory is in your Praise and strength is given in Worship, as a divine mission appointed by God, Kendra has experienced the true manifestation of the Holy Spirit and has been charged with teaching others the importance of staying before the Throne of God in psalm.

In recent months, Kendra began traveling a two hour commute from Nashville to Jackson,TN about 3-4 times per week to serve as the Music & Worship Arts Coordinator and to serve at the Zion Church, the first apostolic church plant of Bishop Walker. She is very dedicated to the ministry and to the people in the city of Jackson.

Unexpected Judah, the anticipated debut solo album, proves to be an album that will usher you into the presence of God. “The Invitation,” a praise-n-worship song sets the expectation for the album. Kendra pours her heart out on “We Need A Healing,” a song that was featured on Bishop Joseph Warren Walker III presents Judah Generation, which has sold thousands of copies and has appeared on the Billboard charts. Expect the unexpected as you listen to Kendra Carr’s Unexpected Judah.
