"Guilty Pleasure"

Right outta nowhere (better known as Birmingham) comes everyones newest favorite guilty pleasure, pianist/vocalist Kendra Sutton, whose straight-ahead, aint-nuttin-like-it, soul/folk/blues performance will have you wondering where she comes up with this amazing stuff. The Moonlight claims credit for coaxing her out of her hesitation to play in front of others and hey, it was like pulling the pin on a hand grenade. She has since been featured at several area live music venues, and even gotten her CD tracks played on local corporate radio, alongside whatever major-label crap listeners are normally subjected to come see her live, with support from some special side players, and youll understand how she could have made such a thing happen. Shes short, but shes powerful! Bring someone you want to impress - from mallbirmingham.com

Bio

WBHM's "Tapestry" describes Kendra Sutton & the Bad Luck Boys as "Honky Tonk Soul." Often compared to Janis Joplin or Norah Jones, Kendra’s original songs draw from influences as diverse as Carol King to Muddy Waters. After a year of playing open mics around Birmingham, AL, Kendra recorded a solo piano/vocal album "Soft Landing." In 2006, Kendra formed a band and six months later, they recorded their latest CD at Sun Studio in Memphis. Now with dozens of shows played, Kendra Sutton & the Bad Luck Boys have played venues of every type and recently opened for Rascal Flatts at the Verizon Amphitheater in Birmingham. Be prepared for high energy, original songs driven by a powerful female vocalist and three part harmonies. Crowd-pleasing, creative, and professional!
