Bio

Kendy grew up in the farm fields and mountains of central Pennsylvania, but now calls Brooklyn home. The mix of farm life and city life is prominent in her music. Often compared to Nick Drake and Leonard Cohen there is an honesty and depth in her lyrics.

Music was always prominent in her life. She began singing at a very young age for audiences of 20 to 20,000. The farming connection presented opportunities to sing the National Anthem at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, WI, the California State Fair, Pennsylvania Farm Show and many political events.

After college graduation and intensive theatrical study, Kendy moved to Melbourne, Australia to study creative writing. It was in Melbourne where she met an incredible group of folk musicians that coerced her to get out and perform the songs she had written. This nurturing environment laid the ground work for Kendy's music.

An expired visa brought her back to the states. She set-up shop in NYC and hasn't looked back since. She plays multiple times a month at the many great venues across the city. including: Pete's Candy Store, Rockwood Music Hall, the Rockshop, Sidewalk Cafe, Postcrypt Coffee House, Pianos, Bowery Electric and many great art spaces and lofts. Adam Chilenski (bass) and Caitlin Becker (piano, vocals) are core band members.

Kendy organizes the Melodica Acoustic Music Festival in New York City. Her first album,'Mountain Fields,' was co-produced with David Kean of Cavanagh and Argus (AUS).
