Ken Kiser

Ken Kiser

 Asheville, North Carolina, USA

Ken's performing is a blend of folk Americana. Think Bruce, Dylan, Prine, Paul Simon, Randy Newman

Ken's song-writing is extremely versatille that crosses many genres. Right now mainly country.

In September 2009 Ken moved to Asheville, NC from Atlanta, Ga. After a two year break from music and a series of serendipitous events, Ken found himself writing new songs and playing around the Asheville area. In October 2010, Ken went into Echo Mountain Studios and recorded a 4 song EP entitled Goodbye Georgia. This EP expanded Ken’s sound departing from the mellow singer-songwriter sound found in his 2007 self-titled debut EP and entering into a more gritty rock feel. Since his arrival to Western North Carolina he has shared the stage with Asheville local artists, Malcom Holcomb, Mary Ellen Bush (Menage), Amanda Platt (Honeycutters), Juan Holiday (Secret B-Sides), Every Mother’s Dream, Chalwa, Paul Cataldo, Scott Tyler, and the Walk-In Residents.

Ken was a finalist and winner of the “Fan Favorite” award at the May 2010 Brown Bag Song-writer competition. He was also a 2009 finalist in the NC Song-Writing Co-Op competition in Cary, and the 2006 Flat-rock music Festival Songwriting competition winner. Good-bye Georgia EP was released in March 2011.
